On social network Tiktok, account Minhanhtran67 commented: "There are many interesting cultural activities in national defense education, but you can't joke too much like that. Entertainment depends on the situation, circumstances and the outfit you're wearing."
Sharing the same opinion, Anh Tu Tran expressed: "Fashion shows are not bad, but in this case, they need to be corrected. Military uniforms represent the image of Vietnamese soldiers, not for joking around."
According to PV's investigation, from August 11 to 18, Van Lang University organized a concentrated national defense and security course for students of the 29th course.
In the series of experiential activities, there was an activity called "The Beauty of a Soldier" that took place on the evening of August 14. In this activity, students had the opportunity to participate in a performance wearing military uniform. During the performance, a student had behavior that was considered inappropriate while wearing military uniform.
Many comments said that this is substandard behavior and needs to be seriously handled.
Speaking to reporters on the afternoon of August 29, Dr. Vo Van Tuan, Vice Principal of Van Lang University, said that the school realized that the above incident had a negative impact on the image of soldiers.
"The school's leadership immediately worked with the Department of National Defense and Security Education, teachers who organized the program, and students to re-evaluate the incident. The school accepts full responsibility, strictly learns from the above incident, and pledges to not let similar cases happen again," said Dr. Tuan.
According to Dr. Tuan, the above incident is part of the student experience activity in the study plan, not included in the opening and closing program of the course, nor in the official study time of the National Defense and Security Education program.
