(NLDO) – Male singer Wheesung was found dead at his home on March 10, at the age of 43.
Korean media reported that singer Wheesung (real name Choi Wheesung) was found unresponsive by his family in his apartment in Gwangjin District, Seoul. They quickly notified the police and authorities arrived at the scene. Wheesung was later determined to have been dead for some time.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident, looking at it as a drug overdose or suicide. They said there were no signs of foul play such as forced entry into the scene. They are also looking for a suicide note.
The news of Wheesung's death shocked his colleagues and fans. He had planned to hold a concert with singer KCM on March 15. Four days before his death, he happily posted on social media: "See you on March 15 when the diet ends."
Wheesung was born in 1982, debuted in 2002 with his first album "Like a Movie" and quickly became famous with the song "Can't I?'. He continued to impress with the songs: "With Me", "The Day We Met Again", "Incurable Disease" and "One Year".
In addition to his solo career, Wheesung is also known for his lyric writing skills. He has contributed lyrics to many hit songs.
In 2017, Wheesung launched his record label Real Slow Company. In 2021, he got into legal trouble, being sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation after being convicted of illegally using Propofol.
