On December 22, speaking at a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin stated: “We are always open to exchanges and cooperation with the United States.” The two sides have also established mechanisms such as the working group on Earth and space science cooperation, as well as the China-US Civil Space Dialogue.
But according to this official, “the US still considers space cooperation with China in terms of the Cold War.”
He stressed that if Washington wants to promote space exchanges and cooperation, the US needs to revoke and repeal the obstructive law and stop making "irresponsible comments" about Beijing.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson also stated that China is committed to the peaceful exploration and use of outer space. China is willing to engage in international space exchanges and cooperation with all countries on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, peaceful use and comprehensive development, and promote the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind in outer space.
Also at the press conference, Mr. Uong Van Ban said that the anti-drug agencies of China and the US are resuming regular contact. According to this official, the process of resuming cooperation in the above field is not easy and needs to be paid more attention by both sides.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said that implementing anti-drug cooperation was one of the important common understandings reached between the two countries' leaders during their meeting in San Francisco.
