On the morning of December 18, Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Central Steering Committee for the 2025 rural and agricultural census chaired an online conference with central ministries, branches and localities to implement Decision No. 484/QD-TTg, dated June 7, 2024 of the Prime Minister on organizing the 2025 rural and agricultural census.

The 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census collects groups of information on the current status of agricultural, forestry and fishery production; the current status and changes in rural socio-economic infrastructure, including information related to the implementation of national goals on new rural areas and advanced new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period; information on rural residents such as capital mobilization capacity, loan situation, credit access of agricultural, forestry and fishery production households; vocational training for rural workers and the results of implementing Party and State policies on rural residents; the use of electricity and clean water by rural residents; medical examination and treatment and primary health care, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Steering Committee emphasized: The General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas will be an important basis for assessing the current situation as well as the results of implementing national programs and goals on industrialization, modernization of agriculture and rural areas, and new rural construction. At the same time, it will be the basis for developing plans and strategies for agricultural and rural development, improving living standards and rural population nationwide.

He requested members of the Central Steering Committee and provinces and cities to report on preparations and readiness to carry out the general census task.

For Thai Binh province, immediately after the Prime Minister's Decision 484, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1789/QD-UBND dated October 30, 2024 on the establishment of the Steering Committee for the General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas of the province. To date, 8/8 districts and cities of the province have completed the establishment of the Steering Committee and the standing team to assist the Steering Committee in the districts and cities. The whole province has established 177 general census steering committees at the commune, ward and town levels with 1,047 members. Thereby, Thai Binh is ready to deploy the tasks of the general census of rural and agricultural areas according to the direction and plan of the Government as well as the Central Steering Committee.
