On the morning of October 25, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense chaired a scientific conference with the theme "Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts help the Lao revolution - Historical significance and lessons learned".

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General, Dr. Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, said that 75 years ago, on October 30, 1949, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party decided that the Vietnamese military forces fighting and working to help Laos would be organized into a separate system and named Volunteer Army.

Under the wise leadership of the Party Central Committee, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, imbued with the ideology of "Helping the people of other countries means helping ourselves", promoting the tradition of the revolutionary army, true patriotism and pure proletarian internationalism, the Vietnamese Volunteer Army and Military Experts have stood shoulder to shoulder, worked together, and together with the entire Party, army and people of Laos, fought bravely, winning glorious victories in the cause of national liberation, building and firmly defending the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The great contributions and sacrifices of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army and Military Experts directly consolidated and built the special tradition of fighting solidarity between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam - a symbol of international proletarian solidarity, a unique model in the history of international relations.

"With all the modesty of a revolutionary soldier, the officers, soldiers of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army and Military Experts have every right to be proud of having successfully fulfilled their noble international duty in Laos and made great contributions to building and fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos," Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh emphasized.

The scientific conference is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteers and Military Experts helping the Lao revolution; it is an opportunity for us to continue to affirm and supplement historical documents, the tradition of steadfast and indomitable struggle of the nation, the pure and loyal spirit of international proletarian solidarity of the heroic People's Army, of the heroic Vietnamese nation.

The workshop affirmed and deepened the strategic vision, guidelines, and policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam on correct and creative international solidarity; the process of building, fighting, and glorious victory of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army and Military Experts to help Laos. Thereby, fostering and promoting national pride, self-reliance, and the noble spirit of international solidarity for today's and future generations.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, emphasized that 75 years have passed, but the meaning and solidarity and the fighting alliance between Vietnam and Laos remain intact.

The activities of the Volunteer Army helped the Friends develop their armed forces, build resistance bases, coordinate in combat to wear down and destroy the enemy in many campaigns: Upper Laos (1953), Central Laos (1953-1954), Lower Laos - Northeastern Cambodia (1954), Upper Laos (1954).

At the Workshop, with innovative thinking, creativity and practical experience, scientific methodology, delegates, scientists, and historical witnesses continued to discuss some key contents, in which the most prominent were the viewpoints and proletarian internationalist line of the Communist Party of Vietnam towards the Lao revolution; the special solidarity, pure and loyal fighting alliance between the Party, State, army and people of Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam in the fight against the common enemy, for peace, national independence, unification of sovereignty and territorial integrity, for the happiness of the people of each country.

At the workshop, Ms. Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam, shared that the history of international relations has many cooperative, alliance, and mutual assistance relationships, but the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam is a special relationship, unique in the world.

Laos and Vietnam are two neighboring countries with a long history of relations. That relationship is an invaluable asset of the two peoples, a factor contributing to the victory of each country's revolution and a common law of development of the two countries Laos and Vietnam. The solidarity and alliance of Laos and Vietnam in fighting against the common enemy is a clear and typical demonstration of the value of that special and unparalleled relationship.

As the leaders of the Lao Party, State and people have affirmed:

"In Laos, there is no place without the footprints of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army, there is no victory without the sacrifices and contributions of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army."

According to Major General, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Nhien, Director of the Institute of Military History, the results of the Workshop once again contributed to deepening the solidarity between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam; enhancing national pride and self-esteem; consolidating the belief and political determination of the entire Party, people and army in the cause of national renewal; fighting against wrong views that deny historical values, downplay the significance and role of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army and Military Experts in the Lao Revolution, so that historical values ​​will forever exist with the development of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
