The wastewater treatment plant and wastewater pumping stations of the Hoa Binh City Drainage and Wastewater Treatment System project are being accelerated by the contractor, striving to put the project into operation by the end of 2025.

The wastewater treatment plant and wastewater pumping stations are part of the Hoa Binh City Drainage and Wastewater Treatment System project. The investor of the project is the People's Committee of Hoa Binh City. The Hoa Binh City Construction Investment Project Management Board is assigned to manage the project, and the contractor is SEEN Engineering Joint Stock Company.

The wastewater treatment plant and wastewater pumping stations have a total investment of over 160 billion VND. The investment capital is ODA loan from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, non-refundable aid from the Government of Switzerland and counterpart capital from the State budget.

The domestic wastewater treatment plant is built on an area of ​​53,441m2 in Dan Chu ward, Hoa Binh city. The capacity of the domestic wastewater treatment plant is 5,120m3/day and night.

Domestic wastewater treatment plant includes operator house, guard house, garage, gate, fence... and treatment items including: flow meter, trash rack, sand settling tank, secondary settling tank, Aroten tank, circulating sludge pumping station, sludge stabilization tank, return water pumping station, septic sludge receiving tank, sludge drying yard, sludge pumping station, sludge storage tank, sludge compression tank.

According to Dan Viet reporters, the contractor is making efforts to speed up the construction progress of the domestic wastewater treatment plant.

The sludge tank and sludge holding tank are gradually taking shape.

Technical staff of the Hoa Binh City Construction Investment Project Management Board and technical staff of the construction contractor were present at the construction site to urge and inspect the progress and quality of the project.

Speaking with Dan Viet, Mr. Le Vinh Thanh, an officer of the Hoa Binh City Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the wastewater treatment plant and wastewater pumping stations will start construction in July 2024. Every month, the contractor, supervision consultant and investor representative will meet once to urge on the construction progress. In addition, the issues of quality and labor safety are also given top priority.

According to Mr. Thanh, for Hoa Binh City to be recognized as a type II urban area, a wastewater treatment plant is one of the criteria required. It is expected that by 2030, Hoa Binh City will have two plants located on the right and left banks of the Da River. Investing in a wastewater treatment plant will help reduce environmental pollution.

In addition to the domestic wastewater treatment plant, wastewater pumping stations are also being urgently built.

Mr. Ta Trung Nhan, a construction worker at PS6 pumping station, said: "We have been driving Larsen piles since last Saturday. We are currently speeding up the pile driving progress to soon construct the wastewater pumping station."

"Up to now, the construction progress of the wastewater treatment plant and wastewater pumping stations has reached 60% of the contract volume, exceeding the construction progress as planned. The contractor is making efforts to speed up the construction progress, striving to put the plant into operation and test run by November," said Mr. Dang Dinh Son, Director of the Hoa Binh City Construction Investment Project Management Board.
