On June 19, 2024, in Hanoi, authorized by the President, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council, Commander of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to present the President's Decision on sending officers to participate in UN peacekeeping activities to 03 Public Security officers to perform peacekeeping missions at the UNMISS Mission in 2024. Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Public Security, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of Project No. 05 of the Vietnam Public Security participating in UN peacekeeping activities, chaired the ceremony.

From October 2022 to present, the Ministry of Public Security has sent 03 Working Groups, including 08 officers to perform UN peacekeeping missions at the UNMISS Mission in South Sudan and the UNISFA Mission (Abyei Region); sent 01 officer to perform missions at the Police Department, UN Headquarters on an individual basis, of which Working Group No. 1 has ended its term of office and returned to Vietnam in April 2024. When participating in UN peacekeeping missions, officers of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security have promoted their qualities, capacities, and professional qualifications, quickly adapted to the conditions and operating environment of the United Nations, demonstrating the professionalism of the Vietnamese Public Security Force; spreading the beautiful image of the country and people of Vietnam as friendly, hospitable and peace-loving to the United Nations and international friends.
Today, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to hand over the President's Decision to Working Group No. 4 to carry out UN peacekeeping missions on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the establishment of the Permanent Office (June 15, 2021 - June 15, 2024). Thus, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam currently has 3 Working Groups carrying out UN peacekeeping missions, including: Working Group No. 2 carrying out missions at the UNMISS Mission; Working Group No. 3 carrying out missions at the UNISFA Mission; Working Group No. 4 will deploy together with Working Group No. 2 at the UNMISS Mission.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the President, Minister Luong Tam Quang presented the President's Decision to Working Group No. 4 to carry out the UN peacekeeping mission at the UNMISS Mission in South Sudan in 2024, including 3 comrades: Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trong Hoa; Captain Nguyen The Anh and Captain Tran Thi Thu Trang.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the President's decisions to send public security officers to participate in UN peacekeeping operations in recent times deeply demonstrate the Party and State's trust and concern for the public security force; the growth and maturity of the public security force and each public security officer not only in protecting national security, but also in performing noble international tasks, for peace and stability in the region and the world; also demonstrating the sense of responsibility and effectiveness in performing the tasks of the Standing Office of the Ministry of Public Security and the close and effective coordination of relevant agencies.
On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that the Standing Office and relevant agencies have achieved in the past time. At the same time, he congratulated the 03 excellent Public Security officers who received the President's Decision today.

The Minister suggested that all comrades need to unify their awareness that participating in UN peacekeeping activities is an important task of the country in general and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in particular; it is one of the specific actions that directly contribute to maintaining and creating sustainable peace and security in the world and the region. This is also an honor and pride; at the same time, it sets new responsibilities for each individual who receives the decision.
Officers who will be performing UN peacekeeping missions at the UNMISS Mission in South Sudan in 2024 must strictly comply with the regulations of the United Nations and the host country when performing assigned peacekeeping missions; and regulations of the Ministry of Public Security when operating abroad. Closely coordinate with military officers performing peacekeeping missions at the Mission; maintain internal solidarity, proactively protect internal political security, coordinate with international colleagues, and demonstrate a spirit of solidarity and unity.

Continuously learn, improve qualifications and skills; exchange and absorb experiences of police officers who have successfully completed their tasks at the Mission to thoroughly prepare the necessary conditions. Focus on ensuring health; prevent and fight epidemics, strive to overcome difficulties, and be determined to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the UN, the Party, the State, and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam.
Minister Luong Tam Quang also requested the Standing Office of the Ministry of Public Security to regularly monitor, guide, and care for officers and their families, ensuring the regimes and policies of the Party, State, Central Public Security Party Committee, Ministry of Public Security, etc.
