Two important historical events of our army and people in the war against French colonialism and American imperialism have brought inspiration and attracted many artists to participate in creating propaganda paintings of high artistic quality and propaganda effectiveness.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture Nguyen Quoc Huy emphasized that 2024 is the year of many major national celebrations, including the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail - the traditional day of the Truong Son Troops.
The contest to create propaganda posters to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail - Truong Son Troops' Traditional Day, organized by the Department of Grassroots Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), will take place from October 24, 2023 to December 10, 2023.
The Organizing Committee received more than 1,000 entries for the two contests. The Organizing Committee selected 70 propaganda paintings to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, including 16 prizes, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes and 1 movement prize.

Regarding the content of the propaganda to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail - the traditional day of the Truong Son Army, the Art Council selected 65 works for exhibition, including 17 awards, including 01 first prize, 02 second prizes, 03 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes and 01 movement prize.
The selected propaganda paintings for exhibition and award-winning works clearly expressed propaganda content, meeting the requirements of fine arts; through language, images, and colors with the characteristics of propaganda paintings, the works conveyed and deepened the meaning and great historical value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

Deputy Director Luong Duc Thang awarded the Third Prize to the authors.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy affirmed that through propaganda and agitation activities, we aim to affirm the correct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh and the spirit of great national unity leading to the victory of the two resistance wars against French colonialism and the US; arouse and promote the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, the will to fight and win; honor and show deep gratitude to generations of Vietnamese people who sacrificed their blood and bones, contributing to the cause of national liberation and reunification.
At the same time, encourage and motivate cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to strive and make efforts to overcome difficulties, complete political goals and tasks; and be determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.
At the closing and award ceremony, in the content of composing propaganda paintings for the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to artist Do Nhu Diem (Thai Binh) with the work All for the Dien Bien Phu campaign; awarded the Second Prize to authors Do Nhu Diem, with the work Dien Bien Phu, Victory of the strength of great national unity of Vietnam; author Nguyen Duy Thanh (Hanoi) with the work Commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory - Uncle said victory is victory.
In addition, 2 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes and 1 movement prize were awarded.
