Fairness and responsibility in the songwriting campaign "The Country is Full of Joy"

On February 22, at the Lao Dong Newspaper, a meeting of the Jury Council for the final round of the song composition campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" took place.

This is a campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) organized by the Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong. Mr. To Dinh Tuan - Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong, Head of the Steering Committee of the campaign to compose the song "The Country is Full of Joy", Chairman of the Art Council of the final round - highly appreciated the spirit of impartiality and responsibility of the Jury Council of the final round, in order to select worthy songs to award. The music Gala program "The Country is Full of Joy" is scheduled to be held on the evening of April 26 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Experts including Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach (Vice President of the Vietnam Musicians Association), People's Artist Ta Minh Tam (Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Musicians Association), musician Nguyen Quang Vinh (Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association), Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi My Liem (Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association), Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai (Head of the Propaganda, Press, and Publishing Department - Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee), expressed their excitement at the achievements of the campaign.

At the same time, it is expected that the awarded songs will be widely promoted and spread in people's lives, as a meaningful and practical gift to celebrate the country's important event. On behalf of the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee, Mr. To Dinh Tuan presented flowers to thank the Art Council of the final round of the songwriting campaign "The Country is Full of Joy".

The songwriting campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" was launched on September 25, 2023. The time for receiving works is from the launch date to December 30, 2024. Total number of authors and works participating: 122 authors with 166 works. Total number of authors and works eligible for preliminary judging: 110 authors with 143 works. After the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee will select 20 works with the highest scores for the final round (February 2025).

Results: No first prize. Two second prizes went to: "Singing about the city I love" by musician Tran Xuan Mai Tram and "Following the sacred will" by musician Nguyen Van Chung. Two third prizes included: "City of smiles" by musician Huynh Huu Duc, "Ho Chi Minh City 50 years of sharing joy" by musician Nguyen Duy Khoi. Three consolation prizes went to "City connecting bridges" by musician Ngo Duy Thanh, "City forever in our hearts" by musician Pham Hoang Long, and "The crystallization of 50 years of journey" by musician Huynh Loi.
