This afternoon, February 21, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a press conference on the socio-economic situation of Quang Tri province in 2024, deploying directions and tasks for 2025.

Information on the implementation of socio-economic development, national defense and security tasks shows that 2024 marks a year of many fluctuations but also a year in which Quang Tri province achieved many positive results in all fields with 14/18 main socio-economic targets completed and exceeded the set plan.
The province has attracted 40 projects with a total registered capital of VND 12,000 billion, 4 times higher than in 2023. Key programs and projects have been focused on and directed strongly, a number of projects have been restarted, started construction and accelerated construction progress to create growth momentum for the coming years such as My Thuy Port Area, Quang Tri Industrial Park, Hai Lang LNG Phase 1, Construction of a conveyor system to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam across the border at the La Lay International Border Gate (Quang Tri) - La Lay (Salavan)...
The agricultural sector continued to be a solid foundation for the economy as the winter-spring and summer-autumn crops achieved the highest productivity ever. Tourism activities also recorded impressive results with more than 3 million visitors, an increase of nearly 48.5% compared to the previous year.
The work of streamlining the political system to be lean, efficient, effective and effective has been focused on and directed resolutely. The cultural and social fields continued to achieve many important achievements. The province successfully organized many major events and holidays, notably the first Peace Festival.
In particular, in 2024, Quang Tri province is honored to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam to visit and work. The visit left many important marks, resolved many recommendations and proposals of the province, removed many bottlenecks, provided many suggestions and important directions to promote socio-economic development policies, national defense and security and strengthen foreign cooperation of the province.
In 2025, Quang Tri province will focus on implementing the following main targets: a growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of 8% compared to 2024; GRDP per capita reaching 89.7 million VND; total social development investment capital reaching 32,800 billion VND.
To achieve the growth scenario in 2025, the Provincial People's Committee focuses on new thinking, new and innovative ways of doing things. In particular, it is necessary to soon complete the work of streamlining the organization to be lean, effective and efficient.
Promote economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation, improving productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness.
Continue to improve the business investment environment, enhance provincial competitiveness, actively reform administration, and simplify procedures to promote attracting investment projects.

At the press conference, representatives of central newspapers stationed in the province shared the results achieved in implementing the province's socio-economic development tasks in 2024. At the same time, they requested provincial leaders and leaders of relevant departments and branches to provide more information on the potential for exploiting Ken Bau gas field and Bao Vang gas field; the implementation status of the key task of becoming the clean energy center of the Central region by 2030.
Consider granting investment policies for large-scale pig farming projects that pose a risk of environmental pollution; progress in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households; promoting investment in the construction of National Highway 15D, a road connecting My Thuy seaport to La Lay International Border Gate to promote economic development; solutions to improve the efficiency of site clearance for key projects of the province... At the end of the press conference, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong highly appreciated the active participation, sense of responsibility and enthusiastic comments from journalists and reporters, showing deep concern for the overall development of the province as well as the companionship and support of the press in spreading accurate and timely information to people and businesses.
2025 is the year to "finish" the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021 - 2025. At the same time, it is the year to focus on organizing Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress and resolutely implementing the resolutions of the Central Executive Committee and the Politburo.
The Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested journalists, reporters, editors of the provincial press agencies, and central press correspondents in the locality to continue to support, accompany, share and have more news and articles in all fields and political and social tasks.
