On the morning of September 25, in Hanoi, the Delegation Affairs Committee under the National Assembly Standing Committee held a conference to train people planned to be full-time National Assembly deputies for the 16th term.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, comrade Nguyen Thanh Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, emphasized that this is the first training conference organized by the Delegation Affairs Committee specifically for those who are planned to be full-time National Assembly deputies of the 16th tenure.
The conference provided delegates with basic knowledge about: Organization and operation of the National Assembly, requirements for innovation in the activities of the National Assembly; position, role, tasks, powers, activities and conditions supporting the activities of National Assembly deputies; National Assembly deputies working full-time at National Assembly agencies; laws on election of National Assembly deputies; laws on election, approval and appointment of positions at National Assembly agencies.

At the same time, equipping some basic skills for those planned to be full-time National Assembly deputies working at National Assembly agencies, contributing to supporting and improving the quality of deputies when participating as full-time National Assembly deputies.
At the conference, delegates listened to Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai present the topic: Law on election of National Assembly deputies.
Accordingly, candidates for full-time National Assembly deputies, in addition to meeting general standards, must also meet specific requirements and conditions prescribed by the Central Organizing Committee, in accordance with the practical requirements of each term.
Regarding work experience, candidates must have successfully completed their duties in positions from Department Head and equivalent, Department Director and equivalent or higher; have a plan to become a full-time National Assembly delegate or have a plan to hold the position of Deputy Minister and equivalent or higher.
Candidates for full-time National Assembly deputies to serve as Deputy Heads of Delegations at the local level must be members of the provincial Party Committee, currently holding the position of Director of a Department or equivalent or higher, and generally have one of the following positions planned: Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of a province or centrally-run city or equivalent or higher.
In addition, the age standards for candidates for the 16th National Assembly will be calculated to ensure compliance with current legal regulations on retirement age of officials.
Also at the conference, delegates listened to other topics, such as: an overview of the National Assembly and the requirements for innovation in the organization and operation of the National Assembly; full-time National Assembly deputies working at National Assembly agencies; laws on election, approval, and appointment of positions at National Assembly agencies; image building skills for full-time National Assembly deputies; introduction to election campaigns and the development of action programs.
