HCMC: More than 50% of contestants won prizes for excellent 9th grade students at the city level

On the afternoon of March 24, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the results of the city-level excellent student exam for grade 9 in the 2024-2025 school year.

Accordingly, out of 3,553 candidates taking the exam, 1,805 candidates won prizes, accounting for 51.08%.

Of these, there were 85 first prizes, 484 second prizes and 1,236 third prizes. Compared to the previous school year, the number of students winning first prizes increased by 13 students and the number of students winning second prizes increased by 4 students.

This year's 9th grade gifted student exam has many new points compared to the previous school year. This is the first year students take the exam according to the 2018 general education program. The exam questions are designed to assess thinking ability and the application of knowledge learned to solve practical problems.

The exam includes the following subjects: Literature, History and Geography, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Technology (industrial orientation), Technology (agricultural orientation).

This year is also the first year that there are new subjects in the exam: natural sciences, history and geography.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City only ranks individual prizes (first, second, third) for each subject. The percentage of students winning prizes must not exceed 60% of the total number of students taking the exam (in which the number of students winning first prizes must not exceed 5% of the total number of students winning prizes); The condition for winning a prize is that the candidate's exam must achieve 10/20 points or more.

Students who win first prize at the city-level 9th ​​grade excellent student competition will be rewarded according to the resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council with an amount of 10 million VND/student.

Step 1 : Units use admin accounts to log in to quanly.hcm.edu.vn

Step 2 : Go to "Student Activities", select "Exam Results". In "List of Exam Results", select "Students who won prizes in the City-level 9th ​​Grade Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year" to view.

Step 3 : Click the "Details" button to see the results, click the "Export Excel" button to download the list.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training will also transfer the exam score file and the list of first, second, and third prize winners to the district education departments so that the units can provide them to students.
