Thu Duc City completes drainage project worth nearly 120 billion VND

(NLDO) - The completed project aims to solve the need for rainwater drainage on both sides of the road, improve traffic conditions, environmental sanitation and create beauty for the area.

On the morning of January 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board held an inauguration ceremony for the project to renovate and upgrade the drainage system of Road 8, Phuoc Binh Ward, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City).

Reporting on the project implementation results, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the completion of the project was the result of the efforts and close coordination between the investor, the entire political system of Thu Duc City, and the companionship and support of the people, especially households directly affected.

The project to renovate and upgrade the drainage system has a total length of over 1,630 m with a total investment of nearly 120 billion VND, from the state budget. The project is invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board.

Mr. Do Anh Khang, Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee, said that the completion of the project will help Thu Duc City improve its infrastructure system and meet urgent needs in flood prevention. Thu Duc City is considered the first pilot model in the country, a city located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, which is meant to be a premise to gain experience for the construction of other affiliated urban areas in the future.

At the same time, Thu Duc City is considered the "road" of Ho Chi Minh City, with the Ring Road 3 axis gradually being completed and many large-scale infrastructure projects passing through, contributing to promoting synchronous and effective traffic connections.

With these important factors, the Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee expressed his hope that departments, branches, and all people would join hands to complete the infrastructure system, contributing to the socio-economic development, not only for Thu Duc City but also for Ho Chi Minh City.

It is known that the project was implemented from November 24, 2021 to August 6, 2024 and has been completed and achieved the goal of drainage and flood prevention.

In the coming time, Thu Duc City will soon send a document to the Department of Construction to decentralize the handover of the project for receipt, management and exploitation according to regulations as well as coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board to finalize and pay off the project.
