At the 2023 Professional Art Performance on the theme of National Defense, among the 4 gold medals won by the Border Guard Art Troupe, there was a Gold Medal for the young singer - professional military Lieutenant Mai Chi with the long poem "Source", composed by Major General, musician Duc Trinh. The entire Army Theater that day burst into applause praising the performance of the Border Guard Art Troupe and the excellent young singer Mai Chi...
Another very deep impression of Mai Chi's voice was at the ceremony to present the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology (6th term) in 2021 at the Hanoi Opera House, at the opening performance of the National Anthem, with the choir and the leading voice of Mai Chi, in a traditional long dress bearing the national flag, sang the historical song Tien Quan Ca very beautifully, solemnly and emotionally. Everyone seemed to be even more moved when they knew that it was a military artist - Actress of the Border Guard Art Troupe Mai Chi. It seems that military artists always have their own beauty, very unique when they wear military uniforms, very beautiful and captivating.

Mai Chi's hometown is in the rice fields of Thai Binh. With a strong love for art, she went to Hanoi to take the entrance exam to the Military University of Culture and Arts. Fortunately, she was accepted and was trained and mentored by her teacher - Meritorious Artist Kim Phuc with a lot of teaching experience for 4 consecutive years. Mai Chi, from a rough gem, has become a sparkling artistic gem. She graduated with honors, won the Second Prize of the 2019 National Chamber Music Competition, and was accepted to work at a very famous art troupe with a tradition dating back to the war years, the Border Guard Art Troupe.
Mai Chi became a professional soldier, a military artist as she wished, an excellent female singer of the troupe. It was the military art environment with the main service objects being the soldiers and civilians in remote island borders, villages, border posts in deep streams and high passes that took days of walking to reach, that contributed to tempering both personality, determination, and Mai Chi's singing voice that continuously matured. Now it can be recognized as one of the outstanding female singers of the army today.
Mai Chi's singing has resounded on many stages, from domestic festivals and competitions to large international arenas such as the Army Games. But more than singing, she has sung in the highlands and far away seas. There is a memory that Truong Sa soldiers still remember, that during the recent trip to Truong Sa, Mai Chi moved the soldiers deeply when she sang for them the song by musician Dao Ngoc Dung: "Carrying a child to the nursery": " It's yours, my child/ The whole rice field, the whole hill/ The whole four and five directions/ The whole tomorrow, the whole life/ It's yours, my child/ The whole sky with the white clouds" . In the middle of Truong Sa with its vast waves, Mai Chi's singing has moved the officers and soldiers. There are also secret tears of fathers on remote islands missing their wives and children back home.
Touched by witnessing those feelings, when returning to the rear, Mai Chi decided to use her personal funds to go to Mai Chau to make her first MV "Carrying a child to nursery", first of all to send to the soldiers of Truong Sa and the soldiers of the Border Guards across the country. Her MV was enthusiastically responded to, with compliments from the young soldiers of Truong Sa, the young soldiers of the Border Guards of Quang Tri, Tay Nguyen, Soc Trang... There are few young singers today who receive as much love, respect, and admiration from the military officers and soldiers as this beautiful young female Border Guard singer and "birds sing no better than your voice".

Talking about Mai Chi's voice, Lieutenant Colonel, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Huong Giang, lecturer at the Military University of Culture and Arts, praised: "Mai Chi has a high, lyrical, clear, and very good voice. She sings the Northwest folk chamber music genre very successfully. Besides, Mai Chi participated in many professional singing competitions on Opera, leaving her mark on professionals and audiences." Bright, beautiful, and strong are the characteristics of this voice. And especially, emotions always flow in every word she sings, along with a very skillful vocal technique and a way of handling works that is always fresh and has its own unique mark.
This spring, Mai Chi has a new music product, the song “Singing about the golden seasons and the national flag” by the famous musician “Lang lua lang hoa” Ngoc Khue, to participate in a major music contest of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Newspaper. Musician Ngoc Khue said that the song praises the golden rice seasons and the national flag shining brightly on the high mountain tops and in the middle of the ocean, so he invited singer Mai Chi to record the song.

Musician Ngoc Khue shared: “I recently learned that the Lao Dong Newspaper signed an agreement with the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to donate 1 million red flags with yellow stars to fishermen. This is an extremely meaningful and practical action, because our Red Flag is the symbol of the country, of the Fatherland, and more than ever when the red flag flies over the East Sea, over the sovereign sea and islands of our Vietnam.
With the Border Guard Art Troupe, I also participated in composing a number of pieces, especially the song "Border echoes Uncle Ho's words" which won Second Prize (no First Prize) in the composition campaign to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Border Guard's tradition and the 30th anniversary of National Defense Day, and was awarded a Silver Medal in the 2018 Army Professional Art Performance.
Recently, I have listened to many songs sung by singer Mai Chi of the Border Guard Art Troupe, especially Mai Chi won the Gold Medal at the 2023 Military Professional Arts Festival. A very sweet and emotional chamber voice, with very good technical handling, and that is why Chau La Viet and I invited singer Mai Chi to be the first to perform this song to respectfully submit to the contest. Military singer Mai Chi recorded very well, because this singer has a voice with a lot of experience with high mountains and far away seas, has the most wonderful singing voice today about high mountains and far away seas"...
