(CLO) Over the past three months, the Iranian army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have held a series of large-scale military exercises, testing new weapons to enhance defense and attack capabilities.
The move comes as the US and Israel continue to threaten to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, energy infrastructure and military sites.
Iran has announced it will launch a third major military attack on Israel in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes in its military campaign in Gaza.
The drills, dubbed Eqtedar, Zolfaqar and Great Prophet, took place across Iran, the Sea of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean, showcasing modern weapons and readiness to confront the West.

Secret Rocket City
The IRGC has unveiled three large-scale underground military bases that store dozens of ballistic missiles, including the Khorramshahr-4 with a range of 2,000 km and a warhead weighing up to 2 tons, the Jahad with a range of 1,000 km, and many other types of missiles.
In addition, the IRGC navy also revealed secret naval bases containing hundreds of speedboats equipped with missiles and anti-ship mines, along with the Qadr-380 – an anti-ship cruise missile with a range of more than 1,000 km.
Air Force and Air Defense
Iran has deployed indigenous fighters such as the Saeqeh and Azarakhsh, along with older US and Russian aircraft from before 1979. In particular, the Russian Yak-130 aircraft are used to train pilots before receiving the Su-35 fighter jet.
In the field of air defense, Iran has deployed the Bavar-373 system, a domestic version of the S-300, with a range of more than 300 km, along with many other defense systems to protect important infrastructure from attacks from Israel.
Maritime strategy and ground defense
Iran has tested a variety of armored vehicles, including the Russian-made Karrar tank and BMP2 in desert and coastal combat scenarios. The Iranian navy also unveiled the Heydar 110 speedboat – said to be the world’s fastest at 110 knots – along with the Hadid-110 drone, which can be launched from underwater to attack targets.
Drone carriers and drones
In early February, Iran launched the IRIS Shahid Bagheri drone carrier, equipped with a 180-meter-long runway and the ability to deploy a variety of reconnaissance and attack UAVs.
In addition, Iran also announced the receipt of 1,000 new drones, including variants of the Shahed line that the West accused Iran of supplying to Russia during the Ukraine war.
Iran's strong military moves come amid continuing tensions with the US and Israel, with the risk of direct conflict increasing.
