On the morning of January 20, at the National Assembly Office - 22 Hung Vuong, Hanoi, the Standing Committee of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the family of former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee (9th National Assembly) Hoang Bich Son held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of former Chairman of the Committee Hoang Bich Son.

Mr. Hoang Bich Son's real name is Ho Lien (alias Ho Bich), born on January 20, 1924 in Duy Trinh commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam. Coming from an intellectual family with many people participating in the revolution, understanding the pain of losing the country, being colonized by the colonialists and the miserable slavery of the people, he was enlightened early and participated in revolutionary activities before the August Revolution in 1945. After more than 50 years of continuous work, Mr. Hoang Bich Son has been trusted by the Party, the State and the People with many important responsibilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha emphasized that throughout his life of dedication and service to the revolutionary cause in many different tasks and jobs, both at home and abroad, former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Hoang Bich Son always set an example of dedication and loyalty to the revolution, the Fatherland and the People. The former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee made important contributions, especially in foreign affairs. Those who worked closely with him learned from him his sincerity, passion, serious working attitude, simple lifestyle and closeness to everyone, always maintaining the virtues of diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality and selflessness.
The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee stated that during his time working at the National Assembly, as a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 9th tenure (1992-1997), former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Hoang Bich Son made many important contributions to the legislative and supervisory activities of the National Assembly. As a National Assembly delegate of Binh Thuan province, former Chairman Hoang Bich Son regularly met with and listened to the opinions and aspirations of voters, and was trusted by voters.
With the above contributions, former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Hoang Bich Son was awarded many noble medals and orders by the Party and State: First-class Independence Medal, First-class Resistance Medal; First-class Anti-American National Salvation Medal; 50-year Party membership badge; Badge for the cause of Vietnamese diplomacy.
In 1997, due to declining health, he was given a leave of absence by the Party and the State, but he continued his research work and closely monitored the situation. With his knowledge and experience, he actively contributed valuable opinions on the cause of innovation, Party building, legislative work, implementation of the Party and State's foreign policies and guidelines... In his relations with comrades, colleagues, and friends, former Director Hoang Bich Son was always modest, simple, and sincere, and was loved and respected by everyone.
“Although Comrade Hoang Bich Son has been gone for nearly 24 years, what he left behind is very much appreciated; profound memories of him remain intact in the hearts of many who knew him and had the opportunity to live and work with him,” the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee emphasized.
On this occasion, delegates watched the documentary "Ho Lien - Hoang Bich Son - Vietnamese Diplomat - Memories from Colleagues" which was painstakingly collected and produced by the family.
