Appointing comrade Le Van Dong to hold the position of Chief Prosecutor of Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy

The Supreme People's Procuracy has just held a ceremony to announce and hand over the Decision on appointing the Chief Prosecutor of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy. Comrade Nguyen Huy Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy and Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee attended and directed the ceremony.

Comrade Nguyen Huy Tien, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy, presented the appointment decision to comrade Le Van Dong.

At the ceremony, Comrade Tang Ngoc Tuan, Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel of the Supreme People's Procuracy, announced Decision No. 18/QD-VKSTC dated February 6, 2025 of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the transfer and appointment of Comrade Le Van Dong, Chief Prosecutor of the People's Procuracy of Thanh Hoa province, to the position of Chief Prosecutor of the People's Procuracy of Ho Chi Minh City. The term of appointment is 5 years, starting from February 7, 2025.

Comrade Le Van Dong was appointed to the position of Chief Prosecutor of Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy to replace his predecessor, Comrade Nguyen Duc Thai, who was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Comrade Nguyen Huy Tien, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy, delivered a speech assigning tasks.

Speaking at the assignment, comrade Nguyen Huy Tien, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy, emphasized that this is both an honor and a great responsibility for comrade Le Van Dong.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy requested the new Chief Justice of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy and the unit's leadership to continue to maintain solidarity and closely coordinate with local judicial sectors to excellently complete assigned tasks.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, congratulated comrade Le Van Dong on being trusted by the leadership and Party Committee of the Supreme People's Procuracy to appoint him to the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi requested Comrade Le Van Dong and the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy to closely follow political tasks, effectively implement the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws related to judicial work, promote the role of the Procuracy in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity; improve the quality of practicing the right to prosecute and supervise judicial activities, in which proactively promote the core role of the Procuracy in fighting against wrongful convictions and missed crimes...

Comrade Le Van Dong, new Chief Justice of Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy, delivered a speech accepting his appointment.

In addition, it is necessary to improve the quality of personnel work, build a team of prosecutors who are increasingly proficient in professional expertise, strong in political will, ensure succession, have sufficient qualities, capacity, and prestige, and meet the increasingly high requirements of the Procuracy sector.

Promote Party building work, proactively advise the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People's Committee in the fight against crime; effectively coordinate between the city's judicial agencies and the advisory agencies of the City Party Committee.
