According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thua Thien Hue province, the online contest to learn about gender equality work was organized to promote and mobilize changes in "thinking and doing" to contribute to eliminating gender prejudices and stereotypes in families and communities, harmful cultural practices as well as some urgent social issues for women and children. Through the contest, effective and practical communication initiatives, models and solutions will be selected to be replicated in the province, contributing to the implementation of gender equality goals, effectively solving some urgent issues of women and children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
The contestants are officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers working at specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Economic and Industrial Zone Management Board; central agencies located in Thua Thien Hue province; associations, unions, universities under Hue University, public service units under the Provincial People's Committee; People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, and People's Committees of communes, wards, and towns in Thua Thien Hue province. Individuals and groups of individuals who are Vietnamese citizens, currently living, working, and studying in Thua Thien Hue province and organizations in the province can also participate.
The contest consists of 2 parts, including: Part 1 (mandatory part), weekly multiple-choice test on the Internet according to the Organizing Committee's set of questions on understanding the Party's policies, the State's laws and policies on gender equality, documents of the Central Ministries, branches and Thua Thien Hue province related to gender equality work. The multiple-choice test is organized online on the Internet, integrated on the website of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thua Thien Hue province and the websites of agencies, units, People's Committees at district and commune levels; the results are announced and prizes are awarded weekly.
Part 2 (encouraged competition), competition to create a video clip to promote gender equality. Each agency, unit, group of authors, and individual creates at least 1 video clip no longer than 5 minutes in the form of: reportage, sketch or models, initiatives, solutions, etc. to effectively communicate changes in "thinking and working methods" to contribute to eliminating prejudices and gender stereotypes in families and communities; harmful cultural practices and some urgent social issues for women and children, especially women and children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
