CNBC. Antony Blinken became the highest-ranking US official to visit China since Joe Biden took office as US President and the first US Secretary of State to make the trip in nearly five years.

KYODO. Japan will issue 1.29 million visas to foreign nationals in 2022, a 14-fold increase from the previous year, after easing border controls to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic.
ANTARA. Indonesia is the destination of Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako on their first official visit abroad since their coronation in 2019.
TEMPO. Indonesia signed the International Code for the Protection of Tourists developed by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as an effort to protect tourists at destinations.
REUTERS. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a letter to G20 leaders proposing granting full permanent membership to the African Union (AU) at an upcoming summit in India.
PTI. At least 96 people have died in India's two most populous states, Uttar Pradesh (54 people) and Bihar (42 people), due to heat waves.
DAWN. Pakistani authorities have arrested 10 people on human trafficking charges in connection with the recent sinking of a migrant boat off the coast of Greece that left at least 78 people dead.
TIMES OF INDIA. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to push through judicial reforms - an issue that has seen massive protests during his tenure as prime minister.
ARAB TIMES. Kuwait formed a new government, appointing Mr. Saad Al Barrak as Oil Minister to replace Mr. Bader Al-Mulla and reappointing Finance Minister Manaf Abdulaziz Al Hajri.
AL ARABIYA. The first commercial flight in seven years from Yemen's capital Sanaa to Saudi Arabia took off carrying Hajj pilgrims to Islam's holiest site.

SPUTNIK. Chinese Premier Li Qiang has begun his first official visit since taking office in March, at the invitation of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the French government.
ANADOLU. Sweden could become a NATO member state similar to Finland if it fully fulfills its commitments to Ankara, according to Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler.
NORWEGIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY. Norway will provide 1.7 billion kroner ($161 million) in aid to help areas in Syria and neighboring countries affected by the crisis, earthquakes and rising food prices.
TASS. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu began a visit to Kazakhstan, where he is expected to discuss with his counterpart all areas of bilateral relations.
REUTERS. The Italian coast guard rescues a group of 159 refugees and migrants from a small boat in distress, about 150 nautical miles south of Sicily.
America
NBC NEWS. The United States witnessed a bloody night of violence on June 17 and early morning of June 18 (local time) with at least 4 people killed and more than 20 injured in shootings in Illinois, Missouri and Washington.

BLOOMBERG. US chipmaker Intel will invest $25 billion to build a new factory in Israel - the largest investment ever by a foreign company in the country.
CTV NEWS. Canada's population hit a new record of 40 million people, which is seen as a good sign that this North American country is dynamic, full of potential and friendly.
GLOBE AND MAIL. Canada passes new law (C-13) to prioritize promoting French-speaking immigrants and minorities outside the province of Quebec.
INM. Mexico discovered 129 migrants crammed into a truck in Veracruz state, in hot weather with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius, 4 suspected human traffickers involved in the incident were arrested.
Africa
CNN. Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks on resolving the Ukraine conflict with a high-ranking African diplomatic delegation, including representatives of seven countries on the continent, in St. Petersburg.

REUTERS. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has vowed to eliminate those responsible for the massacre of at least 41 people in a "terrorist and cowardly" attack on Lhubirira High School in Mpondwe.
Tunisia's Foreign Ministry condemned the storming of its ambassador's residence in the Sudanese capital Khartoum by armed individuals.
AHRAM. Egypt is making every effort to achieve a ceasefire and advance the peace process in Sudan, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi assured visiting Cairo-based Vice Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC) Malik Agar.
EGYPT NEWS. Egypt has cleared $31.8 billion worth of goods stuck at its ports between January and May this year, as the government moves to end the backlog of imported goods at its borders.
AFRICA NEWS. At least 10 people were killed in a Cameroonian military offensive against armed separatists in the English-speaking northwest.
AFP. Malians are voting on a draft constitution drawn up by the ruling military government, amid speculation that the military government will seek elections through the draft.
REUTERS. The two-month conflict between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has displaced more than 1 million children , according to UNICEF.
AFP. Rwanda launched a three-month campaign in the capital Kigali to raise awareness about protecting children on social media , at an event marking the International Day of the African Child on June 16.
Oceania
ABC. The Australian government has pledged to invest 2 billion AUD ($1.4 billion) to build thousands of new affordable homes across the country, as people grapple with rising living costs.
RNZ. A magnitude 5.7 earthquake with a depth of 2 km shook the South Tonga region on the evening of June 18 (Vietnam time), the second earthquake in the past 3 days in this Pacific island nation.
