Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed Decisions 1034 and 1035 of the Prime Minister to discipline Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Transport and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xung - former Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.
Specifically, Decision No. 1034 clearly states: Disciplinary action in the form of Reprimand against Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Transport, for violations during his tenure as Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and the Central Inspection Commission has disciplined the Party; the disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1036-QD/UBKTTW dated July 28, 2023 of the Central Inspection Commission.

Decision 1035 clearly states: Disciplinary action in the form of removing the position of Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee for the period 2015 - 2020 (from January 2015 to December 2020), Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee for the period 2012 - 2014 (from December 2012 to December 2014) for Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xung due to violations and shortcomings in his work and the Secretariat has disciplined him in terms of the Party; the disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 943-QDNS/TW dated July 31, 2023 of the Secretariat.

In late July, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting of the Politburo and the Secretariat to review and discipline the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 and 2015-2020 terms and a number of former provincial leaders, including former Chairman Nguyen Dinh Xung.
The Politburo and the Secretariat determined that Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xung and many former leaders of Thanh Hoa province had degraded in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; violated the principle of democratic centralism, working regulations, Party regulations, State laws, regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.
These violations have caused very serious consequences, are difficult to overcome, cause great damage to the state budget, cause public outrage, and negatively affect the reputation of party organizations and local authorities.
The Secretariat decided to discipline and remove Mr. Xung and related officials from all Party positions.
Previously, in mid-July, the Central Inspection Committee decided to discipline Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Transport, former Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and many related officials.
These officials are all responsible for a series of violations by the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 and 2015-2020 terms.
The Party's inspection agency determined that the Party Delegation of the Provincial People's Council, the Party Executive Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and many organizations and individuals had seriously violated Party regulations and State laws in approving policies, planning, adjusting planning, allocating land, granting certificates and calculating land use fees; in allocating, managing and using the budget for a number of projects, including projects implemented by FLC Group Joint Stock Company and International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC) .
