Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure to meet with Chairman of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev and members of the high-ranking delegation of the Russian Federation visiting Vietnam; he said that the visit to Vietnam by Chairman of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev this time is an opportunity for the two sides to discuss cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries to enhance mutual understanding, continue to agree on measures to further improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, for the benefit of the people and development of the two countries.
Chairman of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese side for the warm welcome given to the delegation, emphasizing that Vietnam is one of Russia's important partners in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in Southeast Asia; affirming that Russia wishes to work with Vietnam to further develop bilateral cooperation areas where both sides have strengths and needs, in order to meet the aspirations of the people of both countries and the development requirements of each country.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always perseveres in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of relations; actively integrates into the international community; is a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community.
Vietnam always appreciates the valuable support and assistance that the Russian people have given to Vietnam in the past, as well as in the cause of national construction and development today; attaches importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, and wishes to maintain and further develop this relationship with Russia.
For his part, Chairman of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev affirmed that the United Russia Party always supports the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam, maintaining and strengthening traditional cooperation areas, while expanding cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, culture, tourism, local cooperation, and people-to-people exchange.
The two leaders expressed their satisfaction with the recent results of bilateral cooperation, including the successful organization of the 24th Session of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation; thereby agreeing on directions and measures to further enhance the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment.
The two sides agreed that in the context of the global economy facing many difficulties and challenges, it is necessary to take measures to enhance the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, in the spirit of harmonizing interests and sharing difficulties; promoting and deepening bilateral cooperation in areas such as energy, oil and gas, science and technology, education and training, etc.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the leaders and government of the Russian Federation for always paying attention to and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens in Russia in recent times; he hoped that President Dmitry Medvedev and the United Russia Party would continue to contribute their voices and support the completion of the legal basis for the Vietnamese community to continue living, studying and doing business long-term in Russia.
Through Chairman of the United Russia Party and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent greetings and regards to Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin.
