No surprises with the score
Nguyen Minh Anh said that when she knew her score, she was not surprised because she had estimated it since the exam. However, she was quite happy and excited because she was the valedictorian of the city. Before entering the exam, she was quite comfortable because she had prepared for a long time so she did not have to rush to review too much.
In this year's exam, Minh Anh got a total of 28.75 points in 3 subjects, of which Math and English both got 10, Literature got 8.75.
English is the subject that I finished the test in the shortest time, only 5 minutes to circle the multiple choice questions, 5 minutes to check the test and the remaining time to wait for submission.
“Because the English questions were not too difficult, I could already imagine the answer in my head after reading it. Besides, this was also a multiple choice test, so I had the answers and just needed to circle the correct answer, so it was quite fast,” Minh Anh said.
On the contrary, with Math, Minh Anh had to spend more time doing the test so she only finished 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. She did the easy questions first, made sure of the answers first, and did the difficult questions later.
Minh Anh also said that being able to pass the exam was the result of a long learning process. In addition to focusing on listening to lectures in class and doing homework, she also researched and learned more on her own.
“My revision is not special compared to other students. I also listen attentively to the teacher's lectures and grasp the methods of doing the exercises, then go home and solve the exercises using that method. In addition, I also research other methods of my own to solve the exercises to see if I get the same answer as the teacher's method,” Minh Anh added.
Minh Anh's 3 wishes to enter grade 10 in order are: Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Tran Phu High School, Le Trong Tan High School.
High achievement in natural subjects
Ms. Vo Ngoc Que Tran, the student's homeroom teacher in grade 9, commented that Nguyen Minh Anh has good thinking and analytical abilities. He always tries to find ways to solve different exercises. In addition, he also studies all subjects equally, with an average score of 9.8 in grade 9. In addition to natural subjects, this student's average score in social subjects is also 9 points or higher.
“You are an excellent student, especially in science subjects. Your scores in science subjects are almost perfect. At the same time, Minh Anh also has a very good ability to absorb knowledge,” Ms. Tran commented.
Minh Anh said that she also won third prize in the city-level Biology competition and obtained a B2 English certificate (level 4/6). Minh Anh said that she participated in competitions only to evaluate her own abilities and did not put too much emphasis on achievements.
She also said that in the upcoming school years, she will try to study hard to get the best results to achieve her goal of becoming a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy or Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
"Partly I was inspired by my parents, but also by my family's private doctor, he is very good, every time I see a patient I admire him more and more. Thanks to that, I also want to become a good doctor like him," Minh Anh shared.
