Ha Long City launches the movement "Digital Literacy for All"

NDO - On March 21, Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) launched the "Digital Education for All" movement in the city. The conference was held in person and online at 32 commune and ward bridges with the participation of more than 1,300 officials, union members, and youth of the city.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee Vu Quyet Tien emphasized: Digital transformation has become an inevitable trend and this is also the most sustainable and shortest path for Vietnam to become a developed country with high income, towards a new era - the era of rising up, the era of development, the era of wealth and prosperity.

For Ha Long, digital transformation is the key to opening the door to the future. In order for “Digital Education for All” to become a nationwide, comprehensive, synchronous, widespread movement and achieve the set goals, Party committees and authorities from the city to the grassroots level need to consistently consider this a key and breakthrough task in the current period and the following years.

Accordingly, it is necessary to continue focusing on comprehensive, rapid, breakthrough and effective transformation on the three axes of "digital government", "digital economy", "digital society"; deploy, develop and perfect information systems; standardize and digitize the operating processes of state agencies in the digital environment; promote the development of the digital economy to create a foundation to promote development, create new growth values ​​in the city's socio-economic sectors and fields and improve the quality of life for people with focus and key points.

The "Digital Literacy for All" movement was launched by the city to improve digital knowledge and skills for all classes of people, especially rural youth, workers, manual laborers, and the elderly, helping people access, use, and apply digital technology in their lives, work, and production and business, contributing to achieving the dual goal of developing digital government, digital economy, digital society, and forming digital technology enterprises.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thang, Secretary of the Ha Long City Youth Union, shared that the "Digital Literacy for All" movement was born to popularize digital knowledge to all classes of people, helping them access and use digital platforms easily. Promote young people to become pioneers in supporting the community to improve digital skills. Create momentum for the development of a digital society by bringing technology into every family and every residential area.

Accordingly, the "Digital Literacy for All" movement aims to propagate and raise awareness among all classes of people, all levels of associations, members and youth in effectively exploiting digital services, platforms, digital technology, especially artificial intelligence in work and life; building digital units, digital communities, digital families and citizens...

The city's goal from now until the end of 2026: 100% of students from primary school and above are equipped with digital knowledge and skills to serve learning, research and innovation, ensuring equal access to digital knowledge and knowing how to protect themselves in the digital environment; 100% of adults have knowledge of digital technology, have digital skills, proficiently use smart devices to access information, use essential digital services, other digital services and know how to protect themselves in the digital environment, integrated into the VneID platform; 100% of workers in enterprises and cooperatives have knowledge of digital technology, have digital skills, use smart devices to serve production, business, and improve labor productivity.

Ha Long City is the first locality in Quang Ninh province to launch the "Digital Literacy for All" movement to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo "on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation", with the goal of ensuring that no one is left behind in the process of national digital transformation.
