Welcoming the top team Hanoi Police in round 6 of phase 2 of V-League 2023, Viettel Club is determined to win all 3 points in the match to surpass its direct opponent (32 points compared to 34 points of Hanoi Police), thereby being able to compete for the throne with Hanoi Club in the final round.

The match between Hanoi Police and Viettel was exciting from the very first minutes. Dangerous opportunities in the first 20 minutes of the match belonged to foreign players from both clubs such as Jhon Cley (Hanoi Police) or Jefferson (Viettel).

In the 20th minute, the top team, Hanoi Police, took the lead. Starting from a pass from Jhon Cley, striker Raphael Success broke through Duy Thuong before finishing past goalkeeper Van Phong, giving Hanoi Police a 1-0 lead in the Capital Derby.

After conceding the goal, Viettel's defense continued to make mistakes. In the 31st minute, Duy Thuong headed the ball inaccurately, allowing Raphael Success to steal the ball. The star of Hanoi Police did not miss the opportunity to complete his double, raising the score to 2-0 for the top team.

In the 36th minute, Raphael Success shined again, bringing a penalty for Hanoi Police. On the penalty spot, midfielder Quang Hai coolly defeated goalkeeper Van Phong to score the first goal in V-League 2023, raising the score to 3-0 for Hanoi Police.

As the first half entered its final minutes, Viettel was awarded a penalty after a VAR review by referee Ngo Duy Lan. However, goalkeeper Filip Nguyen shone when he saved Duc Chien's shot, preserving the 3-0 lead for Hanoi Police before the break.

Entering the second half, Viettel was forced to push up to find an equalizer. Although Hanoi Police proactively played slowly to preserve the score, Hoang Duc and Jefferson's shots were unable to put the ball in the net on a day when goalkeeper Filip Nguyen played so well. In the end, Coach Thach Bao Khanh's team lost 0-3 to Hanoi Police and officially ended their dream of winning the championship in V-League 2023.

For Hanoi Police Club, 3 full points against Viettel helped the Police Team continue to lead the rankings. However, V-League 2023 still has to wait until the final round to determine the champion because in the match at the same time, Hanoi Club also won 3-1 against Dong A Thanh Hoa. Striker Caion's hat-trick helped the Purple Team continue the race with Hanoi Police until the final round.

The matches in round 7 of phase 2 of V-League 2023 will take place at 5:00 p.m. on August 27, 2023. Hanoi Police will host Dong A Thanh Hoa at Hang Day Stadium, while Hanoi Club and Viettel will create the Capital Derby at My Dinh Stadium.
