France became the last team to reach the quarter-finals of the 2023 Women's World Cup after a resounding 4-0 victory over newcomer Morocco.

The French women's team stopped the Moroccan phenomenon's historic journey at the 2023 Women's World Cup with a resounding 4-0 victory in the final match of the round of 16.
Kadidiatou Diani, Kenza Dali and Eugenie Le Sommer (double) all scored to bring victory to the European representative.
With this victory, Coach Herve Renard and his team won the last ticket to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Women's World Cup.
This is the fourth consecutive time that the French Women's Team has made it to the last eight of the competition.
In the previous three times, the French team only passed the quarter-finals once, in 2011 after defeating England in a penalty shootout. The other two times, they had to stop when losing to Germany (2015) and the US (2019).
Going straight into the quarter-finals, the French women's team will face co-hosts Australia.
As for Morocco, they officially ended their historic journey in the round of 16. Although they were eliminated, they deserve praise for what they did in their first appearance at the World Cup.
Morocco is also the only team out of the eight newcomers to the 2023 Women's World Cup to make it past the group stage.
Previously, 6 other teams also won the right to enter the quarter-finals including Spain, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, England and Colombia.
In the quarter-finals, Spain will face the Netherlands, Japan will face Sweden while England will face Colombia.
The quarter-finals of the 2023 Women's World Cup will take place on August 11 and 12.
