Previously, at around 8:00 a.m. on June 16, while fishing near Son Duong Island, fisherman Hoang Trinh Danh (village 1 Dong Yen, Ky Loi commune, Ky Anh town) suddenly discovered a turtle caught in the net.
Mr. Danh brought the turtle ashore and informed the Border Guard Working Group of Vung Ang - Son Duong port.
Through inspection, the specialized agency said that this is a sea turtle (scientific name Chelonia mydas) belonging to the list of endangered, rare species prioritized for protection.
After receiving and completing the handover documents, the Border Guard Working Group of Vung Ang - Son Duong Port, local authorities and fisherman Hoang Trinh Danh organized the release of the above sea turtle back to the natural environment in the sea area of Ky Loi commune.
Authorities released the turtle back into the sea.
Through this, the authorities also propagate to the people going to sea to clearly understand that if there is a turtle entangled in the net, it is necessary to immediately report to the Border Guard Command of Vung Ang - Son Duong port or local authorities to conduct timely rescue, or release it back to the natural environment to preserve rare and endangered animals.
