Increase family bonding through the movement "Studying with children"

“In 2022, the Women's Union of Huong Khe district launched the movement "Studying with children" to encourage and connect family members to care for and be close to children. From the first day of launching, the movement received support from members, women and families in the district. Through social networking platforms, images of parents studying with their children have received many positive interactions," said Ms. Tran Thi Hong Tham, President of the Women's Union of Huong Khe district (Ha Tinh).

A typical example is the family of Mr. Tran Dinh Luc and Ms. Hoang Thi Nhung (in Phu Yen village, Phu Gia commune). Although busy with their business, they always put their children's education first, regularly caring for and accompanying their children in their studies.

Or the family of Mr. Bui Dinh Ngoc - Ms. Tong Thi Hai (in Truong Son village, Phu Gia commune) work hard in farming but they always spend time accompanying their children in studying. Thanks to that, their children's learning results are improving day by day.

When the movement first started, some people thought that studying with their children meant guiding them to study, so they were hesitant because they were worried they wouldn't fully understand the content and curriculum of their children's studies.

However, when the Association's staff guided the implementation, which was simply reminding the children to study on time, asking about some things about their children's day at school, encouraging them to focus on doing homework..., parents were excited to do it.

Up to now, the movement "Studying with children" has been deployed in 21/21 communes and towns and 215/215 women's associations in the whole district.

The President of the Women's Union of Huong Khe district said that in order for this movement to be successful, the grassroots union officials have actively promoted the meaning of studying with their children. Children not only have their parents to accompany them, but grandparents and older siblings can also do this.

Mr. Le Quang Trung (in Residential Group 1, Huong Khe Town, Huong Khe District, Ha Tinh) spends time studying with his child every day.

In the 2022-2023 school year, the Association has deployed the movement throughout the district. In the 2023-2024 school year, the Huong Khe District Women's Union coordinated with the District Department of Education and Training to issue a Plan to coordinate the implementation of the movement among cadres, members, women, and all parents, students, and teachers of educational institutions in the area.

The association also actively promoted images of this movement on social networking groups of districts, communes, women's associations, schools and industries. From the movement, children have become more aware of studying and doing homework.

Children also feel that they are always loved, always accompanied by their parents and family, thereby contributing to family bonding as well as strengthening the connection between school and parents...

As a result, the entire Huong Khe district currently has 15,258/16,532 women's union members with children of school age responding to the movement, accounting for over 92%. The entire district has over 21,000 students at all levels, of which over 7,000 are excellent students.

"We hope to have more training sessions to equip members with knowledge and life skills, so that women can confidently accompany their children of all ages. Studying with children is a small but meaningful activity, contributing to strengthening family ties and helping to improve the position of women," said the President of the Women's Union of Huong Khe district.
