Binh Phuoc Women's Union supports more than 1,600 women to start businesses

The Vietnam Women's Union has just coordinated with the Binh Phuoc Provincial Women's Union to organize a seminar to evaluate the results of the implementation of the project "Supporting women to start a business" in the period 2017-2025.

At the seminar, representatives of departments, branches and units discussed and contributed comments related to the organization, coordination and support of the implementation of Project 939 in the province and raised wishes and proposals for the coming time.

According to the report at the seminar, Project 939 "Supporting women to start a business" in the period of 2017 - 2025" in Binh Phuoc province has brought about many outstanding results, contributing to promoting socio -economic development and enhancing the role of women in the new era.

Specifically, the province has supported 1,645 women to start businesses and start businesses - far exceeding the initial target. Most of them are women from poor households, ethnic minorities, disadvantaged areas and those with disabilities.

The female startup ecosystem has gradually taken shape, with 35 cooperatives and 129 cooperative groups owned or managed by women. 174 stores selling women's startup products have been built and connected across the province; 73 training sessions have been organized to provide vocational training, knowledge training, and capacity building on business start-up, business establishment, and business development for more than 4,570 members, women, and female business owners.

The Provincial Women's Union introduced and connected 25 women's households, production and business establishments, and female enterprises to register to participate in selling on the Binh Phuoc Provincial Agricultural Products Exchange.

In particular, the female startup movement has also spread strongly through startup competitions and festivals. In the period of 2017 - 2025, the whole province had 214 startup ideas/projects registered, 63 projects competed at the Central level, of which 3 projects won high prizes in the National Final round.

In addition, communication activities and training on startup skills took place vigorously, 90% of specialized Union officials at all levels participating in the implementation of Project 939 were raised awareness and methods to support women in starting a business and developing a business; 70% of female members were raised awareness about employment and startups; more than 500 news articles and reports were published on local media channels.

For the period 2026-2035, the Binh Phuoc Women's Union aims to support the improvement of management, operation, e-commerce, digital transformation capacity... for 1,500 women who are business owners, cooperative managers, and business owners; provide consulting support and establish 100 women-owned enterprises; provide consulting and support for the establishment of 10 new cooperatives and 50 cooperative groups managed and operated by women; connect at least 550 women with preferential capital sources, start-up support funds...
