On the afternoon of November 25 (local time), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with leaders of the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) in Copenhagen, during his working visit to the Kingdom of Denmark.
Pleased to welcome the Deputy Prime Minister and the delegation, Ms. Kinga Christensen, Executive Vice President of DI, said that this organization represents the interests of nearly 20,000 member businesses, through policy advocacy, consulting on the investment environment abroad, climate change, and trade.
With many member companies investing, producing and doing business in Vietnam, DI plans to open an office in charge of the Asia region in Ho Chi Minh City in early 2025.
In addition, DI is working with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to identify key areas for transitioning to a green economy, green energy, promoting gender equality and inclusive development.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated the role of DI in connecting and encouraging and supporting many Danish enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam in recent times, contributing to the implementation of the Green Strategic Partnership framework.
DI needs to coordinate closely with VCCI to bring a large Danish business delegation to Vietnam on the occasion of the 4th Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit in 2025; contribute to priority orientations and effective, long-term cooperation mechanisms between businesses within the P4G framework.
The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that DI and its member enterprises will provide technical support to Vietnamese ministries and sectors in preparing and building policy mechanisms to implement the Agreement on Just Energy Transition, develop offshore wind power, and advise the Vietnamese Government to perfect the policy system to attract investors in wind power and renewable energy.
"Vietnam always encourages foreign investors, including Danish enterprises, to selectively invest in Vietnam, based on technology, innovation, enhancing technology transfer capacity, and implementing the commitment to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero (Net Zero) by 2050," the Deputy Prime Minister added.
