Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong said: Vietnam is in the process of entering a new era - the era of integration and prosperity. 2025 will be a year marking a special milestone in Vietnam-US relations when celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and 2 years of upgrading relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
This is also an extremely important time for large US businesses and investors to come to Vietnam to discuss and plan cooperation for the common interests of the two countries.
Deputy Minister Ho An Phong affirmed: "The upgrading of Vietnam and the United States to a comprehensive strategic partnership has brought the relationship between the two countries to a new height, has important significance and creates a strong driving force in promoting economic, cultural and tourism cooperation."
Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the US-ASEAN Business Council, successfully implemented many projects to promote Vietnam tourism. Notably, the positive effects from the film filmed in Son Doong Cave, located in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province.
Most recently, in September 2024, the two sides also coordinated to organize the Vietnam Tourism-Cinema Promotion Program in the United States with the theme "Vietnam - New Destination of World Cinema".
The event attracted the attention of many Hollywood filmmakers. Immediately after, two major film production companies, Riot Studios (Riot Games) and Indochina Productions, came to survey the film setting in Cat Ba, Hai Phong.
“Many US businesses want to learn more about sustainable tourism development policies, digital transformation trends in the tourism industry, as well as ways to promote e-commerce and digital payments in Vietnam,” said Ted Osius, President and CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council.
According to Mr. Ted Osius, Hollywood film crews who have come to film in Vietnam have shared interesting and memorable experiences about the friendliness of the people and the wholehearted support from the local authorities. The footage of Vietnam appearing in those films has made a strong impression on audiences around the world.
"US businesses are committed to accompanying Vietnam into a new era of growth, supporting Vietnam to achieve its double-digit economic growth target," added Mr. Ted Osius.
Deputy Minister Ho An Phong hopes that the US-ASEAN Business Council and the Vietnamese community in the US will continue to support and become a bridge to carry out long-term promotional activities, as well as contribute good ideas in the process of promoting Vietnamese culture and tourism.
It is expected that in the near future, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize a Tourism-Film Promotion Program in Vietnam so that US film crews in particular and film producers around the world in general have the opportunity to explore film sets and conduct field surveys at many destinations in the S-shaped land.
