Marking a development journey

Comrade Secretary of Bac Kan City Party Committee Le Duoc Trung reviewed the tradition of 10 years of establishment of Bac Kan city.

Reviewing the 10-year development journey, Bac Kan City Party Secretary Le Duoc Trung emphasized that, through many stages of changes in administrative boundaries, from a small town, Bac Kan city gradually affirmed its position, becoming the center of the province after Bac Kan was re-established in 1997. With continuous efforts, by 2012, Bac Kan town was recognized as a type III urban area and officially became a city under the province in 2015.

From a young city, Bac Kan city has made important developments in all areas. The economic and social infrastructure system has been invested synchronously; the urban appearance has improved with modern roads and public works. The city has focused on improving the quality of the criteria for a type III urban area, aiming to achieve the goal of a type II urban area by 2030.

The city's economy has developed in the direction of gradually increasing the proportion of trade - services - tourism. Investment attraction activities have been promoted, contributing to creating development momentum. Many new urban areas, commercial centers, and infrastructure projects have been implemented, significantly changing the face of Bac Kan city.

Along with economic development, the cultural and social life of the people is constantly improving. The fields of education, health care, and social security are given attention and strong investment. The city also focuses on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, combined with developing eco-tourism to build Bac Kan into an attractive destination.

In recognition of the achievements of the Party Committee, Government and People of Bac Kan City over the past 10 years, the Party and State have awarded many noble awards such as the Second Class Labor Medal, Third Class Labor Medal, Emulation Flag of the Government, Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister. This is a testament to the continuous efforts of the entire political system and people of the city in the cause of construction and development.

Entering a new development phase, Bac Kan city has set many important goals: Improving the quality of urban infrastructure, improving the investment environment, developing services - tourism, promoting digital transformation and building smart cities. The city also focuses on sustainable development, aiming for a green - clean - civilized city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Hoang Duy Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation said that with the spirit of solidarity, innovation and creativity, Bac Kan city has been affirming its position as the development center of the province, aiming to build a modern, dynamic and livable city. The 10th anniversary celebration is not only an opportunity to look back on the achievements but also a motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of the city to strive together for a brighter future.

The Provincial Party Secretary said that Bac Kan city continues to enter a new period of development, with many advantages and new opportunities but also many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, to achieve the goal of becoming a type II urban area, the Party Committee, government and people of the city need to promote economic development associated with improving the investment and business environment; prioritize the development of the socio-economic infrastructure system, especially transport infrastructure and industrial park infrastructure; accelerate the urbanization speed associated with the construction of new rural areas of the locality.

To achieve that goal, in addition to the leadership and direction of the Party Committees and authorities at all levels and the participation of the entire political system, it requires each citizen of the city with their pride to be active, proactive and participate with the highest responsibility to build our city to be truly green - clean - civilized, friendly, creating an impression and sympathy with each tourist when visiting Bac Kan city.

At the Ceremony, the Party Committee, Government and People of Bac Kan City were honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the Prime Minister, a noble reward for the city's contributions to construction and development.
