Cam Le River is packed with people watching fishermen from Quang Nam

On March 22, the People's Committee of Cam Le District (Da Nang City) opened the 2025 Cam Le District Traditional Boat Racing Tournament.

The 2025 Cam Le District Traditional Boat Racing Tournament continues to preserve and promote the traditional river sport of Cam Le District; gathers the spirit of solidarity and exchange between units and localities of Da Nang City and Quang Nam...

15 racing teams have 3 Quang Nam teams including: Thanh Nien Nam Phuoc (Duy Xuyen District), Dong Hai Cam Thanh (Hoi An City), Thanh Nien Tam Tien (Nui Thanh District). 12 Da Nang teams including: Hoa Tho Tay Ward, Khue Trung Ward, Hoa An Ward, Trung Luong, Cam Chanh Hoa Xuan Ward, Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Hoa Phat Ward (both Cam Le District), Hoa Vang District team, Hai Chau District team, Nai Hung 1 Nai Hien Dong Ward team (Son Tra District), Lien Chieu District team, Ngu Hanh Son District team.

There are more than 300 rowers who are fishermen competing in 2 events: the peace race (equivalent to 4.5 km), the traditional race (equivalent to 7.5 km). The race is on Cam Le river from Hoa Xuan bridge to Nguyen Tri Phuong bridge.

The tournament attracted a large crowd of people gathered on both banks of the Cam Le River and the bridges to watch and cheer on the rowers competing enthusiastically.

In the peace tournament, Thanh Nien Tam Tien racing boat team won the championship cup, second place went to Cam Thanh team, third place went to Hoa Tho Dong ward, fourth place went to Trung Luong team.

In the traditional tournament, the Trung Luong racing boat team won the championship cup with a large gap compared to other teams. Second prize went to Hoa An Ward, third prize went to Thanh Nien Tam Tien Team; fourth, fifth, and sixth prizes went to Cam Chanh Team, Cam Thanh Team, and Hai Chau Q Team, respectively.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Chairman of Cam Le District People's Committee, said that the boat racing is one of the activities to develop tourism products on Cam Le River in the direction of promoting trade, services and local tourism. Currently, the infrastructure on both banks of Cam Le River has been completed, with abundant stops such as flower gardens, La Huong vegetable village, Phong Le Cham relic, festival system... favorable for promoting the value of the river.

Developing Cam Le River tourism products

Recently, on March 21, the Standing Committee of Cam Le District Party Committee worked with Viet An Group Corporation on developing tourism on Cam Le River.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, General Director of Viet An Group Corporation, Cam Le River still has great potential for exploitation, suitable for the project "Green River, Ancient Craft Village", a type of eco-tourism associated with local craft villages, exploited in April.

The tour uses a renewable energy boat (no noise, reduced emissions) along the Han River - Cam Le River, taking visitors to visit La Huong vegetable garden, experience being a farmer and camping on the riverbank, visit Phong Le Cham archaeological site, SUP boating, fishing, watching the sunset...

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of Cam Le District Party Committee, added that the district is currently directing relevant units to urgently complete processes and procedures, supporting businesses to quickly put tourism products into service before the April 30 and May 1 holidays.
