The competition aims for design ideas that blend modernity and tradition, old urban areas and green spaces to create a multifunctional space that serves commercial trade without affecting people's lives.

In addition, ideas can combine the organization of cultural spaces, street art, and culinary areas to integrate with the bustling night market scene here, while at the same time, promoting the cultural and historical values of the area.

Good design ideas will be studied by Ba Dinh district to implement future planning and renovation projects for Long Bien market area.

Long Bien Market (Phuc Xa Ward, Ba Dinh District) has an area of 2.75 hectares, designed with a maximum of 3 floors, a level 2 market scale. Built in 1991 and put into use in 1992, Long Bien Market has become the largest wholesale market for fruits, agricultural products, and food in Hanoi.

However, Long Bien market has a cramped space, degraded facilities, and is unable to meet the increasing trading demand. Narrow walkways, lack of parking areas and supporting facilities, leading to traffic congestion and poor environmental sanitation.

Architecturally, Long Bien market bears a strong historical mark but has not been properly preserved and upgraded, making the operating space inconvenient, unsafe and unsuitable for modern urban development.
