At the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California (USA), at dawn on January 18 (Hanoi time), Samsung introduced for the first time the company's first smartphone model integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
As every year, the Galaxy Unpacked event focused on Samsung's latest smartphone lineup - the Galaxy S24, which comes with on-device AI and upgrades in specs and cameras.
Samsung's S-series phones compete directly with Apple's iPhone and are often the first to debut new mobile technology found in other high-end Android handsets that launch between now and the end of the year.

AI brings change to the Galaxy S24
In 2024, AI technology is expected to play a major role in changing the smartphone market. Late last year, Qualcomm revealed that its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip will come with on-device generative AI, and the Galaxy S24 series is one of the first phones to feature this technology.
Right in the first minutes of Galaxy Unpacked, TM Roh - President and CEO of Mobile Experience (MX) of Samsung Electronics said that the company has built an AI platform to create for the Galaxy line that allows users to experience new technology directly on the device without needing a network connection.
In addition, CEO Roh said Samsung will provide Android operating system upgrades and security patches for 7 years for Galaxy phones. This can be considered one of the best software support policies from an Android smartphone manufacturer today.

Samsung then surprised everyone at the event when the AI created on the Galaxy S24 demonstrated the ability to directly translate calls between two different languages.
With AI built into the device, users from both ends of the call can be translated by both voice and text without any additional applications. Currently, Galaxy AI supports 13 different languages, including Vietnamese. What's special is that this feature works even when the device is not connected to the Internet and the other end is using a landline phone.
The virtual assistant on the Galaxy S24 can also translate live conversations in real time by splitting the screen so that people standing across from each other can read the translated text from the other person. Similar to AI on calls, this feature works without a wifi connection or mobile data. This is especially suitable for people who often travel and communicate with foreigners.
Vietnamese is one of the first 13 languages to support real-time translation on the Galaxy S24 without an Internet connection.
AI also enables real-time translation of messages and emails, automatic summarization of incoming messages, and suggested responses and actions.
Artificial intelligence helps Samsung Note automatically create summaries, reformat notes, and create cover pages. While the voice assistant can automatically convert speech to text, then summarize and translate directly in real time. These features are all built into the phone, no network connection required.
Another highlight of AI on the Galaxy S24 is the "multi-purpose zoning" image search feature, users can search for any content that appears on the phone screen by holding down the home key and circling the object to search through Google.
On the Galaxy S24, users can also edit photos with AI to remove objects, change the layout, and improve photo quality. The generated AI will automatically compensate for missing scenes, move and resize subjects in the photo. Photos edited with AI will have a small icon to help users distinguish them from the original photo.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Price
According to Samsung's introduction, the Galaxy S24 series is divided into three versions: Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 + and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The standard version is equipped with a 6.2-inch screen, while the Galaxy S24 + uses a 6.7-inch screen. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will have the largest size with a 6.8-inch screen. All three use a 120 Hz screen, with a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits. The Galaxy S24 uses an Exynos 2400 chip while the other two models use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first Galaxy phone to feature a titanium frame and comes in four color options: gray, black, purple, and gold. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ come in onyx black, marble gray, cobalt purple, and amber gold.
The pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series was announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
According to information published on Samsung Vietnam's website, the Galaxy S24 series will start accepting pre-orders from January 18, with expected delivery on January 30. The standard version with 8 GB RAM, 256 GB internal memory is priced from VND 22.9 million, the 512 GB version is priced from VND 26.4 million. The Samsung Galaxy S24 + with 12 GB RAM, 256 GB internal memory is priced at VND 26.9 million, the 512 GB version is priced at VND 30.5 million. The highest-end version is the Galaxy S24 Ultra with 12 GB RAM, 1 TB internal memory is priced at VND 44.5 million.
With upgrades in features, appearance and price, most major dealers in Vietnam expect Galaxy S24 sales to grow 1.5 times compared to its predecessor. Integrated AI features are one of the novelties to attract new users.
At the Unpacked event, Samsung also revealed a smart ring with integrated AI. However, the company did not announce detailed information about features, configuration or price.
