Da Nang attends the largest MICE tourism fair in Asia - Pacific for the first time

DNVN - For the first time, Da Nang tourism industry attended the Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Event (AIME 2025) held in Australia. This is the leading MICE (business travel) fair in the region.

AIME 2025 takes place from February 10-12 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center (Australia). This is an annual fair to connect the community of businesses specializing in MICE tourism, golf, wedding tourism, luxury resorts, experts in the field of event organization and suppliers.

At the fair, Da Nang booth connected nearly 200 appointments with potential Buyers in the fields of MICE tourism, golf, wedding tourism and luxury resorts from the markets of Europe, America, Australia, Singapore, India, Southeast Asia and hundreds of visitors to the booth to learn about tourism information in the city.

According to Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong, the city on the Han River has great advantages in developing MICE tourism, golf, wedding tourism, and high-quality resorts. In recent times, the city's tourism industry has actively researched and sought new markets to diversify the market and find more sources of visitors.

In 2024, Da Nang organized two tourism and investment promotion programs in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. By participating in AIME 2025, the city's tourism industry hopes to continue connecting with potential businesses specializing in exploiting high-spending customers in the Australian market and the Asia-Pacific region, moving towards opening direct flights from Da Nang to Australian cities in the near future.

AIME is the largest and longest-running MICE fair in Asia Pacific, certified by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). AIME 2025 connects 20,000 meetings between 1,650 buyers and 675 exhibitors, including event management companies, travel agencies, associations, professional conference organizers, corporations, destination representatives, government organizations, airlines, exhibitors. AIME 2025 also uses AI technology to create compatible appointments.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, in 2024, more than 12 million Australians will travel abroad, an increase of more than 15% compared to 2023. Australian tourists have long stays (from 5 to 7 days), prioritize high-end resorts, high spending, focus on beach resorts, golf experiences and cultural tours; prioritize specialized tours and small groups.

Mr. Tan Van Vuong said that Australian tourists are in the top 10 key international markets of Da Nang and are considered to have great potential for the city's tourism industry. The Australian MICE tourism website - MICENET voted Da Nang as an emerging destination for MICE tourism in the region.
