BHG - These days, people in Shan Tuyet tea growing areas throughout the province are bustling into the spring tea harvest. This is the first crop of the year and is the most anticipated by people, because spring tea is very delicious, has a rich, aromatic flavor, and a higher selling price than other crops, making it popular with consumers.

Currently, the whole province has 13,975 hectares of Shan Tuyet tea. The tea growing areas are mainly concentrated in districts such as Bac Quang, Quang Binh, Hoang Su Phi, Xin Man, Vi Xuyen and Ha Giang city. Each year, the output of processed and semi-processed Shan Tuyet tea is estimated at more than 31,300 tons. Many tea products are ranked OCOP from 3 to 5 stars, with a wide consumption market both domestically and internationally.
The Spring tea season usually lasts from mid-March to mid-April. At this time, in all Shan Tuyet tea growing areas of the province, farmers are excited about the Spring tea harvest. Processing enterprises and cooperatives have begun purchasing tea for people, the purchase price of fresh tea buds is from 15,000 - 55,000 VND/kg, especially the whole Shan Tuyet tea buds from ancient trees in the high mountains over 800 m above sea level, the raw material to produce the highest quality White Tea product line, has a purchase price of 250,000 - 300,000 VND/kg.

In 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to develop high-quality agricultural products according to the value chain, including Shan Tuyet tea. The goal is to maintain raw material areas; guide people to produce according to safety standards; promote promotional activities to improve the quality, value and competitiveness of products. In addition to re-certifying more than 5,480 hectares of Shan Tuyet tea according to organic standards in the period of 2020 - 2022, the province strives to have an additional 4,500 hectares of tea certified for organic production for the first time. From there, continue to attract the participation of enterprises and agricultural cooperatives linked in production according to the chain, affirming that tea is one of the key crops, helping people increase their income, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the locality.
