SEMBCORP and BECAMEX continue to expand VSIP with many signed memorandums of understanding

(BDO) On March 26, at a state-level event held at the Government Office in Hanoi, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh witnessed the signing ceremony between Sembcorp Development, wholly owned by Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp), and joint venture partner Becamex IDC, to explore the development of four additional Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) projects. The endorsement by the two senior leaders underscores the strategic role of VSIP in bilateral and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.

Attending the event were representatives of leaders of relevant ministries, branches and localities. On the side of Binh Duong province, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC Corporation, Co-Chairman of VSIP.

Accordingly, 4 memorandums of understanding for VSIP's potential projects in Hung Yen; Hai Phong City, Hai Duong, Binh Duong were awarded at a state-level ceremony in Hanoi.

Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with local authorities to study cooperation and develop VSIP projects in the South in Binh Duong Province as well as in the North in Hai Phong City, Hung Yen Province and Hai Duong Province. The MoUs reaffirmed the common goal of creating an optimal environment in VSIP industrial parks with the necessary infrastructure and resources to attract and support high-tech manufacturing activities.

Also this morning, the groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP Thai Binh was held in Thai Binh province.

VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park covers an area of 333ha and is strategically located in the developing industrial ecosystem of Northern Vietnam. VSIP Thai Binh is positioned to become an important satellite industrial park, supporting a network of major manufacturers and suppliers in high-value sectors such as electronic components, precision engineering and renewable energy.

VSIP Group is currently developing 20 urban, industrial and service areas across Vietnam with a total area of 12,000 hectares. VSIP supports more than 1,000 customers from 30 countries and territories with a total investment capital of 23.4 billion USD.
