The VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon 2023 race caused hotel room occupancy at this tourist destination to skyrocket, reaching 80%.
On June 11, the VnExpress Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon (VM Quy Nhon) will take place with a scale of 10,000 athletes. This is the 4th year the tournament has been held in Binh Dinh. Some travel agencies with customers booking to Quy Nhon during this period confirmed that it is very difficult to find a suitable room because many accommodation facilities are fully booked.
Data from the Mustgo platform, a partner of about 100 hotels in Quy Nhon, confirmed that most 2-3 star hotels were fully booked, with only a small number of rooms remaining from June 9 to June 12.
The 4-5 star segment also has hotels with high occupancy rates such as Anya Quy Nhon (100% full on June 9). Other partner hotels with high prices still have rooms but not many. Overall, during the race, the average room occupancy rate in Quy Nhon can reach up to 80%.

Ms. Hoang Tuyet, director of a travel company, said she had to scramble all day to find a suitable room for a customer after randomly "holding" a series of airline tickets during the period from June 10 to June 13.
Regarding airfare, the cost of traveling from Hanoi to Quy Nhon during the race is about 3 million VND round trip, equivalent to the same period in previous years.
Explaining that the race took place on June 11 but many hotels were fully booked from June 9 to June 12, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan, Vice President of Binh Dinh Tourism Association, said that athletes tend to arrive early. They want to practice running in advance, get used to the terrain and weather, or simply combine it with a family trip.
"During the race, many large groups of tourists from travel agencies, if they do not book rooms early, have to split up into many different places. Athletes often gather in the central area for convenience in participating in the race instead of staying in Nhon Ly area, about 20 km away," said Ms. Lan.
In addition to helping increase the room occupancy rate in Quy Nhon in a short time, Ms. Lan also highly appreciated the race in promoting the tourism image of the city as well as the whole Binh Dinh province. The representative of the Binh Dinh Tourism Association hopes that the race will be held annually, thereby creating a brand and helping many other tourists know about Quy Nhon.
VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon season 4 takes place on June 11, expected to attract about 10,000 domestic and foreign athletes. Runners will have the opportunity to cross beautiful roads, admire the "crescent moon" beach of Xuan Dieu, cross Thi Nai bridge or welcome the sunrise on Phuong Mai sand hill. Athletes can also combine sports and beach travel for the whole family this summer.
