The 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival will be held in Quang Tri province from December 14-17 with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups: equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world". Quang Nam is one of 16 provinces/cities participating in the Festival, along with Bac Giang, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue, Vinh Phuc and Quang Tri.
Quang Nam delegation participated in the following contents: Mass Arts Festival; Traditional Ethnic Costume Performance; Performance and introduction of excerpts from festivals and traditional cultural activities of ethnic groups in the locality; Exhibition and promotion of local traditional culture; Exhibition, processing and introduction of traditional ethnic cuisine; Demonstration of community tourism skills, guest welcoming skills, explanation skills, introduction of community tourism destinations; Sports activities and ethnic folk games; Exhibition "Cultural colors of Vietnamese ethnic groups".
The opening ceremony of the Festival will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 14, 2024 at the Quang Tri Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center.
The festival will display photos of “Vietnam’s ethnic minorities accompanying the country’s development”, introducing 200 photos of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups, the Party and State’s attention to Vietnam’s ethnic minorities, outstanding achievements through the perspective of traditional culture of ethnic minorities and landmarks and tourist attractions of 17 provinces and cities participating in the festival. At the same time, each province and city participating in the festival has an exhibition space to introduce and promote local traditional culture.
The exhibition space of Quang Nam province with the theme "Ethnic groups of Quang Nam province - Solidarity, promoting internal strength, innovation, striving for sustainable development" introduces and promotes the typical cultural values of ethnic minorities in Quang Nam province through models of artifacts, images, musical instruments, costumes, traditional architecture. At the same time, introduce achievements in production, construction, national defense, socio-economic development, national security and defense and building community cultural life; introduce typical traditional products, handicrafts, fine arts ... typical of ethnic minorities, display images, show videos introducing typical tourism products, destinations of Quang Nam and especially introduce 04 intangible cultural heritages of ethnic minorities in Quang Nam. Thereby, reflecting the cultural values of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Quang Nam province, which are both unique and diverse in the unity of Vietnamese culture.
The organization of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival is a meaningful activity to honor the good traditional cultural values, preserve and promote the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic minorities in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups in general, and the provinces and cities participating in the Festival in particular. This is an opportunity to create conditions for localities, artisans, actors, athletes, and ethnic minority communities to exchange, learn, and share experiences, contributing to raising awareness and consciousness in preserving and maintaining national cultural identity, building and defending the Fatherland.
