Festival of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures: 'Colorful Convergence' at the Sacred Land of Quang Tri

The Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival in Quang Tri province took place from December 13-16, focusing on introducing typical contents in the cultural identity of ethnic groups of 16 provinces and cities.

On the evening of December 14, at the Quang Tri Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center (Dong Ha city), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize the opening ceremony of the 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival.

The festival brings together 16 provinces and cities to participate, including: Bac Giang, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien-Hue, Vinh Phuc and Quang Tri.

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy emphasized that with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups - Equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world," the festival aims to honor the good traditional cultural values, preserve and promote the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic minorities in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 ethnic groups.

The festival is not only a cultural event but more importantly, it is also an opportunity for cultural entities, artisans, actors, and mass athletes of all ethnic groups to exchange experiences, introduce cultural beauty, and spread pride and sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​in the period of national integration and development. From there, cultural achievements created through many generations are continued, nurtured, and become increasingly deeper and richer.

It is also a testament to the spirit of great solidarity, indomitable will, and aspiration to rise of the ethnic groups, creating a premise and solid foundation for the people of all ethnic groups, together with the whole country, to make greater efforts in the new era - the era of rising of the Vietnamese people.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized that the Festival demonstrates the Party and State's concern for preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in the trend of integration and development. This is also an opportunity for the province to promote and introduce cultural tourism products of Quang Tri land and people to friends and tourists, linking the work of preserving, conserving and promoting the values ​​of cultural heritage with sustainable tourism development.

With the theme "Convergence of Colors," the program aims to honor the traditional cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese ethnic communities across the country; where people have actively contributed their intelligence and time in the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups in a unified and diverse Vietnamese culture.

Ethnic groups from all over the country have gathered in beloved Quang Tri - the land that suffered much pain and loss during the war, to affirm the position and contributions of the ethnic minority communities that have stood side by side in the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups; protecting, preserving, fighting steadfastly and joining hands to build the land left by our ancestors.

The program introduced and promoted the traditional cultural values ​​and historical relics of the country and Quang Tri province to domestic and international friends. Thereby, educating the younger generation to follow the tradition of solidarity of the previous generation, joining hands and unanimously building, preserving and protecting the sacred heritage of the country.

The 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival taking place in Quang Tri province from December 13-16 focuses on introducing typical contents in the cultural identity of the ethnic groups of 16 participating provinces and cities through many unique cultural, tourism and sports activities.

These are the programs: Mass art festival, ethnic costume performance, introduction of festival excerpts and traditional cultural rituals of ethnic groups.

Along with that are activities of displaying, introducing and promoting traditional culture, performing, processing and introducing unique ethnic cuisine of the localities and sports activities and ethnic folk games with subjects such as pushing sticks, tug of war, slingshot, crossbow shooting...

Within the framework of the Festival, there will also be a photo exhibition with the theme "Ethnic minorities in Vietnam accompany the country's development" and an exhibition "Cultural colors of Vietnamese ethnic groups"./.
