Quang Nam proposes to adjust investment policy for project worth over 2,700 billion VND
The People's Committee of Quang Nam province has just submitted a document to the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance proposing to adjust the implementation time of the Quang Nam Province Adaptive Integrated Development Project with a total investment of more than 2,700 billion.

Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung has sent Document No. 7910 to the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance on adjusting the investment policy of the Quang Nam Province Adaptive Integrated Development project.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province proposed to adjust the project implementation period from 2022 - 2027 according to Decision 396 of the Prime Minister to 2022 - 2030.
Regarding the reason for the adjustment, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that the project was approved by the Prime Minister for Investment Policy in Decision No. 396/QD-TTg dated March 29, 2022 and the People's Committee of Quang Nam province approved the investment in Decision No. 574/QD-UBND dated March 14, 2024, accordingly the project implementation period is from 2022 to 2027. However, up to now, the project has not signed an Agreement with the World Bank (WB) Sponsor.
Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee also stated: Currently, the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank are carrying out procedures to propose negotiating the Project Agreement. In order to have enough time to complete the project, based on the World Bank's opinion, Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee submits to the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance for consideration and reports to the Prime Minister to adjust the project implementation time to ensure implementation in accordance with regulations.
It is known that the Quang Nam Province Adaptive Integrated Development Project is a Group A project with a total implementation capital of 118.7 million USD, equivalent to 2,748.61 billion VND. Of which, WB loan capital is 79.12 million USD (equivalent to 1,832.1 billion VND); counterpart capital is 39.58 million USD (equivalent to 916.51 billion VND).
The project aims to increase access to adaptive infrastructure services and enhance capacity for disaster risk-resilient development planning and management in project areas in Quang Nam province.
The project will dredge the Yangtze River and build six new bridges across the Yangtze River. The project will be implemented in Duy Xuyen, Thang Binh, Nui Thanh districts and Tam Ky city with a total length of about 60 km.
Regarding this project, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung affirmed that this is a driving force project of the province. This project will facilitate the development of the Eastern region of the province, at the same time, it will strengthen connectivity, remove infrastructure obstacles of key coastal economic zones, create a smooth and synchronous transportation system contributing to socio-economic development.
