Phu Quoc City People's Committee said that since the beginning of 2024, the locality has welcomed about 6 million domestic and foreign visitors. Phu Quoc International Airport in particular these days has welcomed about 20 flights bringing international visitors from Thailand, Korea, China, Russia, etc. to the island for entertainment and relaxation.

Aleksey, a Russian tourist, said this was his second time visiting Phu Quoc for a vacation. He was able to enjoy the sea and forest scenery in Phu Quoc and learn more about the beauty of Vietnamese culture.
“I feel Phu Quoc is wonderful. From the culture, cuisine to the lovely people on the island. I really like it here, especially the beach is very beautiful. I will definitely introduce my friends to come back to the island to have fun,” Aleksey happily said.
“At the Tinh Hoa Viet Nam area, I got to experience making Dong Ho paintings, Thanh Tien paper flowers or lanterns with typical cultures of the North - Central - South. I also enjoyed a short mini show with ancient cultural features or wearing ancient costumes in a very interesting nostalgic setting,” shared Ms. Thi Phuong Hong Thuy - a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
Phu Quoc City People's Committee said that in 2004, the island had about 80,000 people. By 2023, the population living on the island had increased to more than 149,000 people. “We will propose to the ministries and branches to consider extending Phu Quoc visas beyond 30 days so that international visitors can visit the island comfortably. The locality will have a promotional campaign to help international visitors know more about Phu Quoc,” Mr. Khoa emphasized.
“Kien Giang Department of Tourism in coordination with relevant units and Phu Quoc City People's Committee continues to work with travel agencies to bring delegations to survey Phu Quoc tourism products, contributing to promoting, promoting and introducing the beautiful scenery of Phu Quoc to foreign tourists.
The Department also encourages businesses to have many unique, attractive and high-class tourism products to serve international visitors," said Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh - Deputy Director of Kien Giang Department of Tourism.
The Kien Giang Center for Promotion, Investment, Trade and Tourism said that the unit will continue to organize to welcome famtrip delegations, international reporters and journalists to Phu Quoc; receive and work with foreign delegations coming to Kien Giang for tourism, meetings, exchanges, trade connections, survey destinations and investment in trade and tourism.
“We plan to organize a delegation of officials, civil servants, public employees and businesses to participate in promoting investment, trade and tourism in Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Laos, Cambodia, Russia, etc. with the hope of stimulating tourism and attracting foreign visitors to Phu Quoc Island,” Ms. Quang Xuan Lua - Director of the Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center - emphasized.
