Mr. Marcos stressed that the Philippines is not shifting away from China in any way or any way, adding that the relationship between the two countries includes continuing to seek solutions to the challenges that both sides face. The Philippines will continue to promote the friendship and partnership that has developed with China since 1975.

Regarding the differences between China and the Philippines, President Marcos said that "they certainly exist but they do not define the entire relationship between the two countries." The Philippines will pursue dialogue in a friendly approach to resolve differences. The Philippines and China continue to work together to resolve differences and ensure peace and safety for navigation in the South China Sea. The Philippines considers China a partner in its efforts to maintain peace and maintain important trade activities in the region.

The Philippine President said that during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to China earlier this year, the two sides discussed various measures to strengthen bilateral relations. From the private sector, President Marcos noted that there are opportunities that China brings to the Philippines, its corporations and the Filipino people. Therefore, the existing disagreements cannot define the relationship between the two countries, but will be defined by the areas of mutual interest.
