Việt NamViệt Nam20/03/2025

It is expected that by 2025, the province will have 17,500 hectares of fruit trees. Of which, the maximum area of longan will be maintained at 5,000 hectares, the area of orange trees will be maintained at about 2,000 hectares, the area of banana trees will be maintained at about 3,000 hectares; the area of lychee trees will be developed and expanded from 800 to 1,000 hectares... Regarding the area of flower planting, the province aims to develop and expand about 500 hectares, bringing the area of flower planting in the province to 1,500 hectares. Regarding ornamental plants, develop and expand about 120 hectares, bringing the area to 1,000 hectares.

Currently, the area of fruit trees in the whole province is more than 15 thousand hectares. Of which, longan trees are more than 4.9 thousand hectares, lychee trees are more than 1.3 thousand hectares, orange trees are 1.7 thousand hectares, grapefruit trees are 2.1 thousand hectares, banana trees are 2.5 thousand hectares... Many fruit tree growing models have affirmed their sustainable development direction, bringing an average income of 300 to 500 million VND/hectare/year, of which longan and lychee growing brings an income of 300 to 350 million VND/hectare/year; citrus growing (orange, tangerine, grapefruit) brings an income of 350 to 500 million VND/hectare/year.

Kim Dong district currently has nearly 1,700 hectares of flowers, fruit trees, and ornamental plants. In order to improve farming efficiency for people, at the end of 2024 and the first months of 2025, the district will deploy a model with an area of 0.5 hectares practicing IPM on orange trees in Chinh Nghia commune; 3 models of fertilizing according to the "4 rights" principle combined with the use of organic microbial fertilizers on fruit trees with a scale of 15 hectares in Hung An, Duc Hop and Mai Dong communes; 2 models of automatic sprinkler irrigation for fruit trees with a scale of 4 hectares in Duc Hop and Dong Thanh communes. Comrade Nguyen The Tuyen, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Kim Dong district, said: In recent times, the district has encouraged people to accumulate land, change crop structure, expand production scale, build highly efficient production models for replication. The district has built and implemented investment plans, upgraded and renovated essential infrastructure for production such as: Traffic roads, canal systems, pumping stations; deployed a number of agricultural production models applying high technology in cultivation and processing such as: Production in greenhouses, domes, membrane houses, drip irrigation systems, hydroponic vegetable production systems, aeroponics, automatic seed separation and peeling systems.

From 2021 to present, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center has implemented a number of models with high efficiency, which are bright spots for farmers to learn from and replicate. In particular, the gladiolus flower production model implemented in August 2024 with a scale of 1.5 hectares was deployed in Hong Quang commune (An Thi) and Lam Son ward (Hung Yen city) with high economic efficiency. Mr. Nguyen Tung Giang, Lam Son ward (Hung Yen city) said: Participating in the gladiolus flower production model, implementing planting and care techniques according to instructions, the amount of pesticides used is reduced compared to previous years, the flower plants grow well, high flower yield, beautiful appearance, earning a profit of nearly 30 million VND/sao. Along with that, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center has been and is continuing to deploy an automatic sprinkler irrigation model for fruit trees with a scale of 6 hectares deployed in the communes of Duc Hop, Dong Thanh (Kim Dong), Dai Tap (Khoai Chau) to provide sufficient and timely moisture for plants to grow well; the system helps save water, creates conditions for plants to absorb nutrients, does not cause soil erosion, degradation, reduces environmental pollution, saves labor and labor costs, can be combined with fertilization for plants; the model increases productivity by about 10-15% compared to before. In addition, currently, the Center continues to implement the VietGAP fruit tree intensive farming model with a scale of 65 hectares, at 13 deployment locations (13 production areas) to develop and expand the area of the province's key fruit trees certified to meet VietGAP standards.

In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will direct specialized units and coordinate with localities to synchronously implement solutions such as: Arranging land use plans to serve the development of concentrated fruit trees, flowers, and ornamental plants; promoting the application of science and technology in the production process; continuing to implement the plan to organize certification of VietGAP standards on some key fruit trees of the province; preserving fruits using membrane technology, irradiation, freeze-drying technology, quick drying, cold storage, automatic temperature control. At the same time, using weather - environment technology (iMetos) to forecast and warn of weather - environment, natural disasters and pests for crops; renovating and building irrigation systems; upgrading and completing the main and intra-field traffic systems; building tanks to store pesticide packaging for concentrated fruit tree, flower, and ornamental plant growing areas; building houses for preliminary processing, processing, packaging and preserving products; Implement well solutions for domestic and export product consumption markets.
