On the morning of February 13, shooter Pham Quang Huy entered the final round of the men's 10m individual air pistol event at the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup, facing formidable opponents such as Rakhimzhan (Kazakhstan), Rim Ryu-song (DPRK), and Alanazi (Saudi Arabia).

The reigning ASIAD champion Pham Quang Huy did not start well but gradually got into form, continuously improving his position. At one point, this shooter rose to second place, just behind Rim Ryu-song. However, in the decisive round, Pham Quang Huy did not perform well and missed the chance to compete for the gold medal. In the end, Pham Quang Huy ranked third, winning the bronze medal while Rim Ryu-song won the gold medal and Rakhimzhan won the silver medal.

Earlier this afternoon, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh competed in the women's 10m individual air pistol final, an event in which she was expected to achieve good results. However, Thu Vinh only won the bronze medal.

At the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup, the Vietnamese shooting team will participate with 18 athletes, competing in individual and team events for both the national and youth teams.

The competition venue of the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup is also the shooting range that will host the shooting event within the framework of the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand later this year. Therefore, this is also a place for Vietnamese shooters to get acquainted with the conditions and competition environment.
