The Vietnamese team surprisingly won the gold medal in the men's 25-meter rapid-fire pistol event. According to the organizing committee's regulations, athletes participated in the men's individual qualifying round and their results were counted towards the team's total score to compete for the team medal event.
The qualifying round was tense and exciting, and the shooters had to concentrate as if they were competing in the finals. The Vietnamese team had 3 members participating in this event, including Ha Minh Thanh, Pham Quang Huy and Vu Tien Nam. In particular, U40 shooter Ha Minh Thanh was expected to lead his juniors, and he did not disappoint his fans.
The Vietnamese team won the gold medal.
In the first round, Vu Tien Nam started with 566 points, temporarily ranked 3rd out of 7 people competing in the same round. In the second individual round, Ha Minh Thanh and Pham Quang Huy both participated. Their goal was to maintain the group's parameters to win a medal, or even do better to have an advantage.
25m rapid fire pistol has been Ha Minh Thanh's forte for many years. He made a strong impression when he scored 100 points in the first 10 shots. He continued to hold the number 1 position in the next 10 shots. The 19th ASIAD gold medalist Pham Quang Huy did not compete as consistently as his senior. Quang Huy won 4th place overall with a total score of 576.
This number was enough for the Vietnamese shooting team to officially win the gold medal in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol team event - the highest achievement in the history of Vietnamese shooting. Also at this year's tournament, Pham Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh won the gold medal in the mixed 10m air pistol team event.
