On March 13, 2025, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) opened the Sports Festival for Workers, Civil Servants and Employees (CNVC-LĐ) in the Northern Coastal Region at Thuong Ly Oil Department, Hai Phong City. The Sports Festival gathered more than 300 athletes from 9 units in the region and is a continuation of the Sports Festival - Competition program, part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Petrolimex's founding (January 12, 1956 - January 12, 2026).
Attending the opening ceremony, congratulating and encouraging the spirit of Petrolimex employees competing in the Sports Festival, on the side of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group, there were Mr. Pham Van Thanh - Member of the Government Party Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group; Mr. Dang Tran Hieu - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Petrolimex Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union, Chairman of the Vietnam National Petroleum Trade Union, Head of the Arts and Sports Subcommittee to celebrate the Group's 70th anniversary; along with comrades representing the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam National Petroleum Trade Union; members of the Arts and Sports Subcommittee, leaders of Petrolimex member units in the Northern Coastal region and more than 300 athletes from 9 units participating in 6 sports: mini football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, pickleball and chess.
On the side of the Petroleum Company Region III (CTXD KVIII), the coordinating host, there was Ms. Le Thi Thanh Ha - Party Secretary, Chairwoman and Director of CTXD KV III; Head of the Organizing Committee of the Northern Coastal Sports Festival.
The Northern Coastal Sports Festival is the fourth Sports Festival in the program of Sports Festivals - Competitions in the whole industry to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Petrolimex's establishment. The guests attending include the Heads of the Organizing Committees of the Sports Festivals in the regions that will be held in 2025 according to the plan approved by Steering Committee 285 (Decision No. 285/PLX-QD-HDQT on the establishment of the Steering Committee to organize activities towards the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group).
In his opening speech, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex Pham Van Thanh emphasized that Petrolimex has affirmed its position as a key enterprise in the petroleum sector, ensuring national energy security. With the desire for innovation, Petrolimex is a pioneer in digital transformation, sustainable development, green transformation, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era, an era of national growth. In addition to production and business activities, physical training and building corporate culture are always of special interest to the Group's Board of Directors. The sports festival is not only a playground for employees to improve their health but also a place to demonstrate the spirit of solidarity, determination to conquer challenges, and together strive for new achievements in work and life.
Chairwoman and Director of Construction Company KVIII Le Thi Thanh Ha welcomed the athletes to compete in the beautiful city of Hai Phong, a land rich in glorious historical traditions. The sports festival is organized to create a vibrant competitive atmosphere, meet the desire to exchange and learn, enhance the spirit of solidarity and mutual understanding between employees and workers of Petrolimex units in the Northern Coastal region.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the competitions of the Sports Festival took place excitingly and dramatically. The competition results will be updated at the closing ceremony of the Sports Festival on the evening of March 13, 2025.
