On the morning of March 12, 2025, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) welcomed and worked with the delegation of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi Province (China) to discuss cooperation orientations in the field of multimodal transport, especially strengthening the connection between rail and sea transport between the two countries.
Attending the meeting, on VIMC’s side were Mr. Le Quang Trung – Deputy General Director of the Corporation, along with representatives of member units of VIMC Lines, VIMC Logistics and specialized functional departments. On Guangxi’s side, there were Mr. Ly Kien Luong – Deputy Director of the Department of Trade, Mr. Lai Thu Lam – Head of the Department of Trade, Mr. Hoang Vinh Huy – Head of the Department of Reform and Development, along with representatives of relevant functional agencies.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the potential for cooperation in developing multimodal transport routes connecting the two countries with VIMC's seaport, shipping and maritime services systems, thereby forming cross-Vietnam - China service routes with stronger operational and trading capacity.
The Department of Commerce of Guangxi Province highly appreciated the pioneering role and the increasingly expanding position of VIMC in the field of maritime and logistics in the region. Mr. Li Jianliang - Deputy Director of the Department - expressed his impression on his first visit and work with VIMC, and hoped that the cooperative relationship between the two sides would continue to be expanded with practical and effective steps. The delegation also acknowledged the warm and thoughtful reception that VIMC has given to agencies and organizations from Guangxi Province in the past time.
Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung introduced an overview of VIMC's scale of operations, exploitation capacity and strategic development orientations. With its current potential, VIMC affirmed its readiness to accompany Guangxi partners in developing multimodal transport, aiming to build a modern, efficient and sustainable supply chain.
The working session is a positive premise, opening up opportunities for deep connection between the logistics ecosystems of Vietnam and China. With the support and cooperation from the authorities and Party Committees of both sides, VIMC hopes that the cooperative relationship will soon be realized through specific projects, contributing to expanding the regional supply chain and increasing value for both sides.
