On the afternoon of January 26, the Union of Science and Technology Associations (S&T) of Hong Linh town held the 5th Congress of Delegates, term 2024 - 2029. This is a model congress unit of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Ha Tinh province. The Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hong Linh town has 19 member associations, with 1,700 members. The members are professionally qualified, enthusiastic, creative, have the ability to absorb new science and technology, actively apply leadership and management knowledge, and scientific and technological advances into production and life.

During the past term, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the town has performed the function of consulting, criticizing and social appraisal. The Union, its intellectuals and members have actively participated in consulting, building and criticizing programs and projects on socio-economic development in the town.
During the term, technical innovation activities and honoring intellectuals were of interest to the association. In the period of 2018 - 2023, through the launching campaigns of the whole town, there were 12 topics and products that won national and Northern region awards; 78 topics and products won provincial awards, many innovative and experienced topics were recognized at the provincial level and many topics and products were recognized by professional sectors in all fields.
The application of scientific and technological achievements in production and life, the creative labor emulation movement has been widely deployed, many topics and solutions have been applied and replicated, contributing to improving the efficiency of production and work.
With the emulation movement of good workers and creative workers, in all fields, there have been over 900 topics and initiatives applied to production and life, contributing to the socio-economic development of the town, including a number of projects, plans and scientific topics that have been widely implemented and brought high efficiency.
Over the past 5 years, the Town Union and its member associations have done a good job of disseminating, popularizing, and thoroughly understanding the role, position, and tasks of the Union, through which the Party Committee, government, and organizations have a deeper understanding of the role of the Union. The intellectual team has deeply understood the content of the directives and resolutions and has played a key role in disseminating, arousing patriotism, and creativity in all fields.

The Congress unanimously passed the Resolution of the 5th Congress of Delegates of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hong Linh Town, term 2024 - 2029, with the goal of striving to gather over 90% of intellectuals into association organizations; develop programs and plans to implement annual social consultation, criticism and appraisal; strive to provide consultation and give opinions on 1-2 topics on socio-economic development of the town each year.

Chairman of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations Do Khoa Van and Secretary of the Hong Linh Town Party Committee Le Thanh Dong presented certificates of merit from the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations to the Hong Linh Town Union of Science and Technology Associations.
Promoting the spirit of democracy, the Congress elected 19 members of the Executive Committee for the 2024 - 2029 term; Comrade Ton Quang Ngoc was re-elected as Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hong Linh town for the 5th term, 2024 - 2029 term.
In recognition of the achievements in 2023, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations awarded a certificate of merit to the Town Union of Science and Technology Associations.
