Poet Le Giang was born on February 8, 1930 in Thanh Phu commune, now Ca Mau city, Ca Mau province.
She joined the revolution in 1945 and joined the Party on August 3, 1949.
During the resistance war against France, she worked in her hometown. After the Geneva Agreement (1954), she was regrouped to the North and worked as head of the Southern Hospital in Thanh Hoa and Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi.
In 1964, she returned to the South to work, holding the position of Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Office, and then Acting Chief of Office of the Southern Civil Medicine Department.
During the final stage of the resistance war to save the country, she switched to working in the field of literature and art, working as the chief editor of the Southern Literature and Art Subcommittee.
After the country's reunification, poet Le Giang worked at the Liberation Literature and Arts Newspaper and the Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Association.
In 1990, she retired according to regulations and continued to be a member of the Vietnam Writers Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association.
With over 50 years of work, poet Le Giang is the author of dozens of works with many literary and artistic awards.
Published poetry collections include: Green Piano Keys, Marigolds, Oh the Street Singer...
Many essays and research papers have also been published such as: Finding pearls in my hometown, Walking with folk songs, 250 hometown melodies, Learning about Southern folk songs, Vietnamese folk songs in the South...
In particular, many of her poems were set to music or had lyrics written by poet Le Giang such as: I'm still waiting for you to come back (Hoang Hiep), The sound of the flute (Pham Minh Tuan), Afternoon down at Da Nhim (Xuan Hong), Tomorrow I'll go on the road and City of love (Thanh Truc), Mother gives me a rustic song (Lu Nhat Vu).
Musician Lu Nhat Vu was born on May 13, 1936, in Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong province.
He joined the revolution when he was young, joining the Party on March 19, 1976. After the Geneva Agreement (1954), he gathered in the North and joined the Youth Volunteers. Later, he graduated from the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, then worked at the Southern Song and Dance Troupe.
In 1970, he returned to the Southern battlefield and worked in the Liberation Arts Subcommittee.
After the country's reunification, he worked at the Institute of Music Research (later the Institute of Culture and Arts in Ho Chi Minh City) with the following positions: Director of the Music Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, member of the Secretariat of the Vietnam Musicians Association, Deputy Secretary General of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, and Party Committee member of the Grassroots Block of the Ministry of Culture and Information.
Lu Nhat Vu is the author of more than 20 famous works such as: Morning at the construction site, The checkered scarf, Remembering Tran Van On, The Saigon girl carrying ammunition, Song of the pioneer... especially the songs " Please rest assured, mother", "Song of the Southern land".
